Maine’s passage of ‘right to food’ amendment stirs celebration, worry

It sounds more like "hate on the Poor". The Law must be this Majestic:

“The law, in its majestic equality, forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal their bread.”

― Anatole France

Oh, so helping the poor by actually going out and DOING things is hate. But sitting at home and scheming is loving the poor?

France, was an outspoken socialist, and supporter of the Russian Revolution that did nothing but bring people to poverty and left them begging in the streets

He was wrong on his views as well

And Daniel forbids there being any means testing, so your retirement money will not be taken into account. Isn't that handy?
He also doesn't specify who it would be limited to. Of course he jumped right into means testing when I asked him whether children would be covered and he never indicated when people would "retire" from getting paid to not work. Basically, he hasn't thought any of this through.

I will pay taxes on the extra $31,200 I get annually.

And it is not my story, it is yours. You are the one who has been claiming the 2.0 multiplier means the $2.5 billion would not cost anything.
What if resorting to uc funds puts you in a higher tax bracket automatically if it is not your only source of income?

Our understanding of economics was much worse then.

Unemployed in an at-will employment State could be enough for unemployment compensation.

No difference from what we have now, in that specific regard.
So any other funds I may get outside of employment would then be irrelevant. We are talking unemployment funds that my wife and I would get. All things being equal, what I make of investments or other non-employment can’t be taken into account, according to your scenario.

You need to report income from Any source. It is my opinion that anyone with an income who applies for unemployment compensation for "greed" instead of need, should be taxed at a higher rate.
