I always find it interesting how strict Constitutionalists change their minds when the Constitution doesn't support their position. Folks we call our founders left a door open for a time when someone might abuse the court system they designed. Adding justices and the size of courts is the remedy they chose.

What abuse is this you speak of? Trump was elected for a 4 year term starting in 2016. His term is not over until the end of 2020. The Senate was elected with a Republican majority from 2018 until the end of 2020. The voters have spoken and it is the President and Senate's jobs to appoint justices during his 4 year term, not for 3 years and 10 months.

It's true that the gop is a minority, and it's also true that Trump only won the nomination with a plurality 45% of votes in the gop primaries. White evangelicals make up about 1/3 of the gop. Further non-evangelical protestants and Catholics make up another 30% of the gop. I don't think there's any doubt that McConnell energized his base. And Hillary depressed hers.

But those 2/3's of the gop have given hundreds of millions to elect a court that will reverse Roe. But as of yet, the court hasn't really done anything to piss off dems. Even Roberts ruled the ACA was a "tax" and thus legal.

It's true that the gop is a minority, and it's also true that Trump only won the nomination with a plurality 45% of votes in the gop primaries. White evangelicals make up about 1/3 of the gop. Further non-evangelical protestants and Catholics make up another 30% of the gop. I don't think there's any doubt that McConnell energized his base. And Hillary depressed hers.

But those 2/3's of the gop have given hundreds of millions to elect a court that will reverse Roe. But as of yet, the court hasn't really done anything to piss off dems. Even Roberts ruled the ACA was a "tax" and thus legal.

Lets see if Barrett burns it down.

Roberts is a RINO, but the liberal justices are the ideologues on the court. They are always lock-step with each other and they always follow the party line...like good little puppies.
