Well this was all over the news and social media last night.

Of course the usual suspects immediately railed about “GUNS, omg when are we going do something about GUNS?”

But, mysteriously we never got a description of a white guy with an AR-15.

Instead it was described as two groups of people that got into an argument, and someone pulled a gun and shot a 19 year old.

Hmmm….

Sounds like it was gang bangers, so the story will get memory hole:

So the question: If not for the 2nd. amendment, would it still be possible to convince Americans to go to war so often on false pretences?

The 2A is not the problem. But it has been horribly abused to accommodate the blood thirst and savagery lurking inside the human psyche.

The great proliferation of "Hunting Killing" for fun has transformed civilized humans into blood thirsty savages and it feeds on itself.
Until societies recognize this mistake and stop glorifying and encouraging it the savagery will only get worse as we are clearly seeing.
It is so bad that we have seen the corresponding proliferation of bloody and brutal video games to further satisfy and encourage the carnage.
Global wildlife populations are dwindling rapidly.

It has spawned an entire generation of blood numb blood thirsty savages whose greatest thrill (as you point out) is killing.
It has infected men, women AND children at this point.

The Mall of America needs its own police force.

The Bloomington police keep a manned active presence within the mall and have a station there. Because of 4 shootings this year, they are testing metal detectors at one entrance.
There are dozens of entrances.

But they put up a sign that guns are banned.

The place is so massive, most folks probably didn't even know anything was wrong until the lockdown.

When you were a kid, did you ever use a magnifying glass reflecting the sun on insects like ants? There were many kids that did that. From your observations that would make them blood thirsty. We live with too much stress and a percentage of the population with psyche issues severe enough to be put into institutions to keep them and others safe.
