In voting you have to decide who best represents your views, will be best for your community, & the country overall.
Also you need to decide who will best be able to meet any unforeseen threats. Attacks from abroad, home grown terrorism, pandemics.
In such exceptional circumstances the Government is granted emergency powers. Because there isn't time to get the
remedies through parliament. They have to act quickly.
The Corona pandemic has put us all in the above position.
The remedies may not be clear because the threat might not be understood even by scientists.
So the gov. will act on what the experts tell them at the time.
First we were told face masks were pretty useless. - No face mask's.
Now the advice has changed and face masks might be of some benefit. Everybody must wear a facemask in designated places.
Personally I didn't vote for this Gov and detest them.
Unfortunately I am in a minority but having said that they are still our British Government.
I am required to obey the law.
It is irrellevant to question whether face masks serve any protection or not. We can not wait to find out, but if they provide just minimal protection its better to play safe.

When we vote we are also signing up to centuries of development of our 'terms of reference' so we all now what we are signing up for.
