Mandatory AR-15 Ownership

A law proposed in Missouri would require everyone between the age of 18 and 35 who can legally possess a firearm to own an AR-15 and gives them one year to buy it.

Nothing but a retarded political stunt so a few polititions can get on TV. Don't they have better shit to do ?

Are you new to politics in this country?

If you don't value your head, don't wear a helmet.

I still have mine in good working order too I might add-
If you don't wear a helmet I'll argue the "good working order" part.

I am, however, glad you never bounced your head off anything hard enough to break it without a helmet. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I always thought that when a country is under attack it should be the government's responsibility to arm its' citizens not to do their best to disarm them

I have two parts to my answer.

First, this will never pass. Nobody should be forced to purchase one and neither should they be forced to give one up.

Which brings me to the second part. The more ridiculous left wing states such as Virginia get with anti-gun laws the bigger the swing will be elsewhere to counter it. Even within Virginia that is happening.

The Maxim of Cowards & Traitors.

And what's with states with mandatory seat belt laws but no mandatory helmet laws for motorcycles? Personally, you're and idiot if you don't wear one, but it's a good way to cull the herd...
The only time I wore a helmet was traveling from Houston to Austin- I'm still here and sharp as a tack- discounting for age of course, 72-

I have a Remington bolt action rifle. Much better than an AR...in ANY situation.
BRNO small ring Mauser for me. Semis are better for pest control from the back of a ute or in a helicopter, where needing to reload or to take one's eye from the sights is a disadvantage.

I don't agree with it. People who don't like firearms should not be forced to buy them, just like those of us who do should not be forced to get rid of them.

Militia Acts of 1792 - Wikipedia

The second Act, passed May 8, 1792, provided for the organization of the state militias. It conscripted every "free able-bodied white male citizen" between the ages of 18 and 45 into a local militia company. (This was later expanded to all males, regardless of race, between the ages of 18 and 54 in 1862.)

Militia members, referred to as "every citizen, so enrolled and notified", "...shall within six months thereafter, provide himself..." with a musket, bayonet and belt, two spare flints, a box able to contain not less than 24 suitable cartridges, and a knapsack. Alternatively, everyone enrolled was to provide himself with a powder horn, ¼ pound of gunpowder, 20 rifle balls, a shot-pouch, and a knapsack.[5] Some occupations were exempt, such as congressmen, stagecoach drivers, and ferryboatmen.
Great so when they get called up they can go buy one.

Not the same.

This is an alleged free country- using force to curry favor, especially under the color of law, isn't exactly what I'd call free-

Gov't's are supposed to "promote the general Welfare"- not dictate it.
You mean like Obamacare?

I think Father Government should FORCE that little faggot David Hogg and that rug munching gender confused hooker Emma Gonzales to roll out the program on national television. How's that for statism?

Since neither bill, discussed in the article, has advanced further than the initial submission, what's your point?

.

It is called having a discussion...perhaps you have heard of it.

You may as well be discussing ferries and unicorns, they're a likely as these bills getting to a vote.

.

Yet it was still put forth, thus we are having the discussion. If you do not wish to be a part of it nobody is forcing you to come into the thread. You are the only one that is triggered by the discussion...why is that?

Poor thing, I only pointed out the fact that all you're doing is whining about something that ain't gonna happen. The only decent discussions revolve around the deflections from the topic in the OP.

It's going on the offense rather than staying on the defense about protecting gun rights. Not a bad idea.

Not a bad idea if you are a big government statist....other than that it is a bad idea
