Mandatory AR-15 Ownership

A law proposed in Missouri would require everyone between the age of 18 and 35 who can legally possess a firearm to own an AR-15 and gives them one year to buy it.

Proposed Missouri Law Would Force Every Adult Resident to Buy an AR-15

So....what do you all think of this move?
Bad move. Next they'll be wanting them to buy health jnsurinsu or something crazy like that.

Also, are they gonna subsidize ownership for poor people?
Yep. There should be a proviso that poor black people on food stamps get an AR-15 for free.

That should make the bill VERY popular with Trumptards.

Typical skewed left wing interpretation. The bill would offer free firearms to people who qualify and they would have a year to comply. Nowhere does the bill indicate mandatory ownership.

You need to read the bill again. It specifically requires adults between 18 and 35 to own an AR-15.

Forcing everyone to buy a gun is wrong. Establishing which gun they must buy is fishy.

The thought behind it, "deterrent", however seems to work, for Kenesaw GA anyway

In this American town, guns are required by law - CNN

1981 "all head of households must own a gun" LEO's however say this is NOT enforced. Kenesaw now has 33000 residents, ONE murder in the last 6 years and a crime rate below 2%.

1982 Morton Grove Ill banned handguns in the city limits. Crime rate rose 15% in a year. 5 years later they unanimously removed the ban.

too funny. with 1 post, gator has the left screaming YOU RIGHT WING FOOL and the right screaming YOU LEFT WING FOOL.

at least we do see who the FOOLS really are.

ie - those that only see in extremes and are simply incapable of having a discussion w/o making it EXTREME.

Makes about as much sense as forcing people to buy medical insurance...

I'd prefer an AR-10...

I'll trade my AK for an AR when they pry it from my cold dead hands.

Why settle for one or the other? Hell, not even just two options since the AR can be made in .300 BLK and .458 varieties, among others.

What part of "requires" is confusing for you?

Obamacare says, HELLO MOTHERFUCKER.....

Yes...a thing I have been vehemently opposed to since day one...now all of a sudden it is the "Conservatives" wanting to force people to purchase things....amazing how alike the parties are.
If this has such widespread conservative support, why is the bill just sitting there?

It's almost like there isn't as much support as you think there is.

I'm guessing you supported Obamacare as originally enacted.

I'd be perfectly fine...the odds of me encountering a herd of wild bore is about as great as finding one grain of sand in the ocean. We own alot of hunting land and one stipulation is only bolt action rifle a are permitted. Show up with an AR and you are laughed at while you go get your bolt action.
