The fact that Europe oppressed and persecuted its Jews does not mean the Arab/Muslim world did not do the same. Hell, just look at how those "peaceful" Arab/Muslims treat each other. The world decided it was best to find a place where those who were persecuted for centuries could find a home.

The Jews have (for many more centuries than the Arabs) called that area home and, as already mentioned, the world decided it was time to recognize that fact. There was nothing illegal or immoral about Zionists petitioning the world for that recognition (unless one is a hateful Nazi slug).

In case you need it, GP, here's a list of states which do not recognize Israel's existence. You'll note that 29 of the 32 are either Arab League or OIC states with Bhutan, Cuba and N. Korea joining that evil empire:

Zionists were required to respect the rights of non-Jews living in Palestine, or perhaps that doesn't matter to the "chosen people?"

Many Arabs weathered the war, stayed in Israel and became Israeli citizens. Israel's "peaceful" Arab neighbors were barred from interfering in her establishment but just couldn't resist the opportunity to try to make the desert red with Jewish blood.

Israel did and does respect the rights of non-Jews in Israel. Many Arabs weathered the war, stayed in Israel and became Israeli citizens.
