13 People Lost Health Insurance for Every Person Buying an ObamaCare Plan

Ok, now ya got a link, in the future do your own fricken homework.
Have to question the metrics, now:

The tally was released as members of Congress are debating the details of a Republican plan to replace Obamacare, formally known as the Affordable Care Act, and marks an increase from previous enrollment figures that did not include data from 11 states – along with the District of Columbia – that have created their own exchanges.--https://www.usnews.com/news/health-care-news/articles/2017-03-15/obamacare-enrollment-surpasses-12-million

Sign-ups for private health insurance through state and federal exchanges under the law known as Obamacare reached 12.2 million by the end of open enrollment in January, according to data released Wednesday by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Dont those greedy insurance companies understand that continuing to raise premiums , raising deductibles, and reducing coverages wouldnt matter to insureds under Obamacare ???

Didnt those insureds understand how good they had it it and how altruistically rewarded they were ???

[Q

You know who else does work? It's called the working poor. Thankfully they can receive assistance regardless of being demonized by some for it.

The working poor would have a lot more money if they didn't vote for Liberals that screwed up the economy, wouldn't they?

Just think of all those working poor that voted for Obama and they got increased poverty, decreased family income, increase income disparity and dismal economic growth. They were dumbasses, weren't they?

The best way to stop being poor is to stop voting for Liberals.

It was Liberals who got our economy back on track. It was liberals who gave safety nets to the working poor while people on this forum want to take it away.

The best way to stop the poor from being poorer is to vote for Liberals. Tax cuts for the wealthy don't create jobs. They keep it for themselves and some of them will resort to automation even if you give them money.

Have you learned nothing over the last eight years?
I dont know about you but when I have more disposable income I spend more money. Multiply that by a couple hundred million people ....well you get the idea.
Or maybe you dont, you seem that far gone..
not everyone spends more money; increasing the minimum wage better ensures, more people will be spending more money.

You cant force market changes.
There are only around 1.5 million min wage workers in the US so the increase in the economy would be minimal.
Now give the middle class a tax cut and you're talking about 51% of adult workers, that would stimulate the economy far more than 1.5 million people making 15 bucks an hour.

lol, the GOP claims that competition is going to get the insurance companies to offer better coverage at lower prices.
Hell, they're leaving the exchanges NOW because they can't make enough money.

Obama covered everyone! Celebrate!

That is until you actually needed to use it and you had to sell your car to afford the out of pockets.

Make no mistake, both bills are a disaster

Not even everybody. There are still 26 million Americans without any health insurance. Obamacare failed at the one thing it was suppose to do.

Forcing coverage of pre existing conditions cemented the failure that is to come.
Insurance was never ment to be your personal medical bank account.

It is a rare unifying moment. Hospitals, doctors, health insurers and some consumer groups, with few exceptions, are speaking with one voice and urging significant changes to the Republican health care legislation that passed the House on Thursday.

The bill’s impact is wide-ranging, potentially affecting not only the millions who could lose coverage through deep cuts in Medicaid or no longer be able to afford to buy coverage in the state marketplaces. With states allowed to seek waivers from providing certain benefits, employers big and small could scale back what they pay for each year or reimpose lifetime limits on coverage. In particular, small businesses, some of which were strongly opposed to the Affordable Care Act, could be free to drop coverage with no penalty.

The prospect of millions of people unable to afford coverage led to an outcry from the health care industry as well as consumer groups. They found an uncommon ally in some insurers, who rely heavily on Medicaid and Medicare as mainstays of their business and hope the Senate will be more receptive to their concerns.

“The American Health Care Act needs important improvements to better protect low- and moderate-income families who rely on Medicaid or buy their own coverage,” Marilyn B. Tavenner, the chief executive of America’s Health Insurance Plans, the industry’s trade group, said in a strongly worded statement.

What they all seem to agree on is state controlled high risk pools will result in degraded coverage or no coverage for the people who need it the most. I have personal experience with high risk pools and it is not good. My daughter was placed in a high risk pool in 2004. It took over 6 months before she was offered any coverage. The premiums were over $4,000 a months and had a $5,000 deductible and a yearly cap. The state picked up only $1,000 of the premium.

When high risk pools are used as a method of covering those with prexisting conditions, everyone applying for insurance must complete a healthcare questionnaire and be exampled by doctor so the insurance company will have the information needed to determine risk. In my daughter's case, the questionnaire was 28 pages long. It took 6 weeks for the company to evaluate her. After placing her in a high risk pool, the state put her on a waiting list for several months. Finally she got insurance but by that time she could not work so she was able to get Medicaid which paid her healthcare bills till she passed away about 4 years late

How many of those 'uninsured' are healthy, young people who weren't carrying insurance before the ACA because they didn't WANT to before they were finally forced to buy it?

the GOP controlled Senate said of the Heath Bill 'That Dead Fish from the House is not even going to be considered because its "Too Rank" LOL

Dumbass. Millions did lose coverage, ALL plans that did not include the 10 basic coverages had to be cancelled which INCLUDED all existing individual policies. SOME states grand fathered in those plans for awhile, typically 1-2 years depending on the Company.
Link or their current coverage ended in favor of ObamaCare.

LOL, a moron trying to make up his own rules. I am comfy in your ignorance boy.

They are who they are. Their happiness is for some reason tied to how much misery they can cause for the poor and middle class. Republicans view 'power' as their get-out-of-jail-free-card to fuck with poor people. Like someone that walks down the road and comes across a tired shivering little poodle that has been on the street for months and is just looking for something to eat and they kick it as hard as they can.

This is who these people are.
They're not THAT mean. The Republicans just need a huge chunk of change in order to justify the tax cuts Trump wants. This new healthcare plan would save that money. It might stimulate the economy and everyone will be so rich they can afford to buy their own insurance, but I kind of doubt it.

Insurance was never meant to be your personal medical bank account.
You are right. Insurance was never meant to cover all medical expenses. However, the problem today is the cost of even relatively minor healthcare procedures and routine healthcare maintenance is too expensive for many millions of Americans. What this means is individual insurance or employee sponsored insurance is not the solution. For health insurance to work as insurance, most of the risk pool must be very low risk; that is they have very low healthcare costs. This is not the case today.
