More people were rural and closer to being self sufficient back then.
Some areas in the country did not even notice the depression so much since there was not much change for them.
Technically underemployed though.
Everyone Felt the Depression. Some worse, some less, but they all felt it.
Not so bad in eastern KY and similiar areas.
