Boy, 17, killed, man wounded in Englewood shooting; 22 more shot across city
A 17-year-old boy was killed and a 20-year-old man was wounded during a shooting late Friday in the Englewood neighborhood, police said, and at least 22 other people were wounded in shootings across the city.
The man and the teen, identified as Torri Williams of the 9000 block of South Laflin Street, were standing on the corner of 64th and South Justine streets when the shooting happened about 11:10 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
A shooter exited a parked white Cadillac, walked over to the corner and opened fire, hitting the boy in the chest and the man in the arm, police said.
