There's no proof that the Book of Mormon is true and not a made up farce.

The Book itself is evidence. It shouldn't exist. Yet it does. Dictated by an uneducated man who couldn't dictate a coherent letter. Perfectly consistent internally as well with the Bible.

And more amazing it comes with a promise that if you study it out and ask God He will show you that its true by the Holy Ghost.

I have read the book. Mark Twain was right when he called it "Ether in Printed Form".

You have hundreds of "witnesses" that have claimed to seen Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and UFO's. Eyewitness testimony is dubious.

So let's look instead at the basic claim of the BoM. It claims that a group of Hebrews traveled to the New World, set up a civilization that involved walled cities and lasted for nearly a thousand years.

And left not one shred of archaeological evidence.

Now, here's the thing. The Roman Empire lasted for 1000 years. We have a lot of evidence that it existed- ruins, coins, histories, languages based on Latin or that derive from Latin, place names that have come down to us to the present day.

But where is the evidence that the Nephites and Lamanites existed?

The book of Mormon also mentions elephants and horses, but these animals didn't exist in the post-ice age New World until Europeans introduced them.
