I have always thought this would be a good topic....movies where the plot would be ruined if the helpless victim...wasn't helpless and ventilated the knife wielding lunatic with 9mm or some other round.....the article points out their first pick, a movie called ATM....

Yep a tire iron.

Using nothing but an improvised blunt weapon it would seem that a single person is able to hold a trio of people at bay.

I nominate "Scream" in the beginning of the movie, had the girl simply gone to her parents gun safe, gotten a pistol and ventilated the killer....movie over in about 5 minutes....
