I'll add another reason. What "Taxing The Rich" really means is taxing middle and upper middle class people who take care of themselves and ask for little from the government in return other than to be LEFT ALONE.
The true rich already have their wealth.
Exactly, they aren't subject to income taxes, they mostly have earned income. And if they have money subject to income taxes, they have lawyers who find loopholes.
So yes, you are correction, higher taxes are a war on the middle and upper middle class. But that is the whole point. The elite hate the middle class, they hate competition from the upper middle class. So sicking the lower class on us to vote in billionaire elitists who will tax us more is part of their MO.
