My Racist Encounter at the White House Correspondents' Dinner

So how do you know that they didn't know the white people already? And do you know for a fact they they didn't let any black people in? Where you guarding the door the whole time harassing the doormen because you didn't have a ticket? You sound like a kook.

How do you know that they did? You presume that the white people were known, which is your "white privilege" "on display", yet again. The author of the article and the subject of the racism, was not "black". Go back and re-read the entire article and you may then, know what you're talking about, instead of mindless dribble.

They knew who those women were, otherwise they wouldn't have been let in. It's the fucking white house for Christ sake. Being white doesn't give you a pass in the eyes of the secret service. They don't care about that shit. I'm white, and I guarantee if I went down there, they wouldnt let me in.

This thread is racist, and so is the woman who complained. SHE judged THEM because they were white. Had they been a different color, she wouldn't have written the racist article.

I'm sorry but you don't know that for certain, anymore than I know that it wasn't pure and unadulterated racism "afoot". And you're not a white woman, batting her eyelashes or showing some leg.
I believe that the article is nothing of the kind, having experienced such blatant racism, personally, myself. And more than likely, if they (the SS) had been another color, there wouldn't have been an incident.

I used to pass line-up at bars all the time back in the day, because THE DOORMEN KNEW ME!!!!!!!! Not because I am white.

Right. And you don't see that is a primary example of "white privilege"???? Wait your turn in line, like everybody else.

It had zero to do with being white, I was a regular and they knew me, what's so hard to understand?

You missed the point......again. Why should you advance, instead of waiting in line? Because you're known? BS. Another example of white privilege.

That's not white privilege, that's knowing the right people privilege. Dumbass.

Without knowing (and nobody here does) what really happened, who here thinks it much more likely that the woman they let through was very attractive, leaned forward a bit, batted her eyelashes, and did the "what can widdle me do?" thing instead of launching into prepared statements about human dignity and "do you know who I am?!" obnoxiousness? Who here thinks she was "escorted" to make sure she was with who she said she was rather than because she won the skin-tone contest? Who here thinks that much more likely than that the Secret Service working an event at the White House where a black president currently resides - an event packed with reporters mind you - would be openly racist to arriving guests?

But again, we don't have enough info to say with any degree of confidence one way or the other.

Female privilege, female privilege!!! No fair, no fair!!!

Yes. You are so stupid ... it's a wonder you remember to breathe.

It wasn't proven that the SS knew the blond bitch in question. Find, in the article, where it says that. You assumed that. Without evidence.

Because that isn't the point. The article was authored by Seema Jilani, a Pakistani physician, residing in Houston. Pakistani doesn't denote "a black person", but what matters that to a white racist who only sees "skin tone".
Seema Jilani is a physician who specializes in Pediatrics, and concentrates on International Health Care. She has worked in Israel, Palestine, Sudan, Lebanon, Egypt and the Balkans. She has been a freelance journalist for Pacifica Radio for eight years. Her radio documentary, Israel and Palestine: The Human Cost of The Occupation, was nominated for The Peabody Award. Dr. Jilani's work has been published in The Guardian, The Independent, Newsweek, The Washington Post and McClatchy Newspapers.

And again, you show your bigotry and ignorance. I am a Christian, who has nothing to do with Islam, other than to respect it as a world religion. And I'm from Earth.

Poet -

I would feel guilty if I did something racist myself. I would not feel guilty for something I see someone else do.

But awareness is the thing here. Most of us, regardless of race, have some racist moments, and it is good to be honest and open about those.

I agree with you 100%, I see racism and it angers me. I work at making sure I treat all people the same.

so then if you are not white you have privilege of being infallible

My comment to you was in reference to Fenders post to you. For a learn-ed man you sure are dumb.

Once again, my post to you was in response to Fenders post to you. How's that breathing thing going?

Security is extremely tight wherever President Obama is present and racial profiling may have played a part in the incident but the Secret Service agent could have lost his job if he had let her through without a ticket. Ms Jilani was invited to the exclusive event on her husband's merit, who is a journalist, and she should have accompanied her husband at all times as Muslim women normally do.

The U.S. Secret Service is investigating how an uninvited couple was admitted to a White House state dinner for visiting Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The Washington Post says the couple from the northern part of the U.S. state of Virginia slipped through several layers of White House security despite not being on the guest list for Tuesday's dinner. Michaele and Tareq Salahi later boasted about their feat on a Facebook Web page, posting photos of themselves posing with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and other guests. Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan says the party crashers went through the same security screening for weapons as other dinner guests and did not pose a danger to the event. He says an initial finding indicates that a White House checkpoint did not follow proper procedures to ensure that the couple was not on the guest list.

Just because she is 'blond,' i.e., white, she is a bitch? Nice.

Blonde bitch? Why is she a bitch? Did she actually do something bitchy you have proof of, or is she a "blonde bitch" simply because she's white?

Why is it that racists do the most complaining about racism?

Why? Because poet is a sexist asshole, that's why, he is a disgusting, hatefilled person, that is why he is such a nutjob on issues.

There are people on this message board who are just as racist as Poet, possibly even more so, make no mistake about that, and most of them are white. It goes both ways.
