My Take: Uninformed juries produce incorrect outcomes

Rittenhouse did not get the benefit of restorative justice. Some things to consider.

Excerpt:

I was a troubled teen. I remember the day I was called to my high school’s administrative office to receive a call. He gave me advice I have never forgotten. He told me that he had been notified that the police were going to arrest me and that I needed to tell the truth even if it was going to get me in trouble.

I was in my early 30s when I reflected upon this wisdom when performing part of his eulogy. It was horrible legal advice, but I know it saved my soul.

The mistakes I made as a teenager have informed my whole life’s purpose. My doctoral dissertation, on forgiveness, would not have been written if I had not accounted for my own moral failings.

Kyle Rittenhouse represents a character in the larger story of the divided American society. I follow these events and the attitudes and opinions surrounding them as an expert researcher focused on healing divided societies. There are many bifurcations, and the casualties that are not being discussed are healing and truth. His acquittal is a springboard, and the public is now at increased threat.

No criminal trial is motivated by healing or truth. Trials are about fact finding and fact exclusion. The truth, for example, that after pleading not guilty earlier this year Kyle posed with Proud Boys while flashing a white power hand sign and T-shirt that said “Free as F---,” was not allowed in trial. Rittenhouse remains “Free as F---,” unpermitted facts notwithstanding.

The boy is going to become a multimillionaire because of liars like yourself.

For taking a weapon to a protest, breaking curfew, defying the police and killing two people??????? Are you sure? Why was he drinking with Proud Boys after he made bail? Look at the big picture.

So you think Rittenhouse guilty on all charges. You’ll have to defend that not with a biased article, but with logic. Got any?

I didn't say he was guilty on all charges. I think he should have been charged with manslaughter because of his contribution to the deaths.

This kid is really pumped up and dreaming of his millions... Its a recipe for disaster.

Did you read the whole article?

This process focuses on justifying punishment for offenders who have been convicted beyond reasonable doubt, but uninformed juries cannot make informed decisions.

This is not justice, and it does nothing for healing. The families of the victims, the communities, Kyle Rittenhouse, and so on … nothing about the process is intended to help them heal or find closure. Punitive justice serves a role, but there are other options. The verdict only affirms that the US remains committed to its long history of vigilantism, an ugly bloodlust embedded throughout the American mythology promoting white supremacy.

The lamentations of another fully indoctrinated lefty that fancies himself as englighted because he decided to stay in school and get a useless doctorate instead of working. Yeah, sorry, not impressed. I am too intelligent and curious to fall for this kind of stuff.

A jury found him innocent because what he did was CLEARLY self-defense. The fact that he was or was not a white supremicist has absolutely no bearing on that fact. Yes, even a white supremicist has a right to self defense. The fact that he shot 3 white guys make this guy’s argument that much more inane. Hopefully his doctoral thesis was more enlightening that this hit piece, but then again, he must tow the party line if he wants to succeed in academia.

Show me the man, I'll show you the crime

Rittenhouse wasn't deputized. He isn't a police officer. .. What was his role or his authority?

He was a vigalante to the same extent that you are when you agree to watch a guys laptop while he runs to the restroom in a coffee shop. He said he was there to protect businesses and help people. To that extent, he was a “vigilante”, however, he didn’t pursue nor attempt to punish anyone.

Not that I am trying to make excuses for this kid....

But I doubt Kyle reached out to them, same with Kyle and Tucker Carlson documentary on him....

There is no doubt the political whore Carlson and Proudboys, pulled the 17/18 yr old in to their political arena, machinations and goals.... And used him.....still using him....when Kyle is no longer useful to them, he'll be dropped like a hot potato....is my bet....

I don't trust juries whatsoever

To have mostly common dumb stupid people judge me? No way

The common man cannot be relied on for such things

The jury found his shooting to be in self defense. The videos indicated this. So, I accept it. You should too.

Regarding your second point, I suspect you’re allowing corporate media to shape your opinion. It’s clear the corporate media and the D Party want him imprisoned. So, you shouldn’t give much credibility to their pronouncements. They’re biased.

Better than having a judge prosecute you simply based on ideology, particularly if they are a lefty who are much more likely to let their ideology override any facts.
Not against juries But they must meet the qualifications

Superior credit

Able to pass a strict civics and English comprehension tests

No criminal or civil suits

Preferably degreed

These trials should be tried 1000 miles away with jurors who live 1000 miles away

That trial was a bullshit circus
