My Top Ten Issues I would Like to See Candidates Address

1) The Open Borders policies of the past four administrations have been a collossal failure and continue to put the public at risk of imported disease, criminal networks, underground networks of safe houses, forgery, etc, that terrorists can and probably are currently using. This is one of the handful of federal responsibilities given to the feds under the Constitution and they cant get even this much right.

2) Working Class wages, after taxes and inflation, have fallen slightly while those of the top ten percent have climbed since 1973. This has caused a lag in the growth of the consumer market in constant dollars that has crippled the world economy as the US consumer market had been the engine pulling the rest of the world along till the Fed economic policies began to favor cannabalizing the working class. IT also undermines the case against democratic socialism. If the Wall Street banks can get free money, why cant the rest of us?

3) Corporate Donations have corrupted our political system and the Congress. For obvious reasons this needs to be addressed and is likely the underlying cause to all our other problems.

4) The Federal government has begun playing spin games with its economic data that is so wild it simply abandons even a fig leaf of factuality and accuracy to the point that they have become useless as either a reflection of our economy nor in raising confidence in that economy. When the home team can freely change the score on the scoreboard, no one pays any attention to it. This obviously needs to be removed from partisan influence.

5) When Wall Street banks got a free gift of $4 TRILLION in Quantitative Easing purchases, the banks made out like bandits, giving huge bonus checks to its employees while the rest of America was suffering. Why cant we spread ore of this Federali free money around? This program has completely destroyed conservative arguments against targeted federal relief when they sat silent on this record setting give away. More Socialism is going to come our way, bet on it, but this time for everyone. What form will it take and who divies out the gifts this time?

6) The suicide rate of our veterans testifies to the scandalous treatment of our veterans and guarantees that more and more it will be the case that only the dregs of society will serve in our nations armed forces unless the underlying causes are addressed. How can we cut veteran programs and have long lists of veterans dying while waiting treatment or freezing on our nations streets homeless while we give away millions to illegal liens and so-called refugees? And is it wise to have a professional army that increasingly feels little love or loyalty to its civilian population?

7) Monsanto has been designing GM crops that are two generation only crops, meaning that Monsanto will be able to grow one more generation, but farmers cant save seed for next years crops. As if that was bad enough, this genetic modification is a dominant gene, which over-rides neighboring crops that have become Monsanto gene carriers that make it illegal to use for next years crops anyway. Use of reduced generation crops and dominant GM strains must be made illegal before these greedy fucks turn ALL of our crops into one generation crops.

8) Heroin addiction has sky rocketed in part due to the addictiveness and over prescription of Opioid pain killers. That must be reviewed and modified somehow. Obviously letting doctors do whatever the hell they want, in this case making profits by prescribing pain killers, must be revised and reviewed.

9) The resurgence of wild animals is a success story, but it also is causing an explosion of problems that the media is ignoring. We need to allow farmers to hunt/kill animals on their property in and out of season to protect their crops and prevent the spread of animal born diseases. More effort at revising animal protection laws to allow them to be culled is necessary or animal attacks on civilians will soon become spiked for being all too common.

10) Obesity and nutrition advisement needs an overhaul. The emphasis on carbohydrates needs to be reduced to a low carb intake diet, as the reliance on carbs is a pre-WW2 nutritional standard that in todays postwar success we have seen has caused an explosion of Type 2 Diabetes in response.

1. Agreed, but until the government is going to crack down on businesses with business closing fines and jail time there will also be those large corporations that thumb their noses at the policy. Also, when someone is caught they need to be deported quickly when it is found they are not a citizen and are here illegally.

I totally agree.

4. This has happened for decades and it is amusing and pathetic watching both sides defend the numbers when their side is in charge and call the numbers false when the other side is in charge. How about both sides have been corrupt on this issue?

Yes, the spin goes back to FDR, but I think the amount of spin and the calloused dumping of massive numbers of Americans from the employment roles has reached a new EXPONENTIAL LEVEL under Bush and Obama.

5. Agreed, there should be no "too big to fail" banks period. They shouldn't have been bailed out and instead the help should have gone directly to the people if there was a bailout to have happened.

Agreed.

6. Agreed, no refugees from anywhere and no aid money to other countries should happen while our veterans are in need. Veterans should come first before any of those. Basically U.S. citizens should come first before any immigrant or any other country.

Again, I agree and thanks for the additional input.

7. Agreed as well. Monsato is the biggest scam corporation in the country. It is complete bullshit that a neighboring farmer be punished for their seeds going into neighboring farms.

Without exception.

8. Drugs should be legal. ANY drugs. It is up to the person to decide what they want to take and the consequences of it are also their responsibility. The government shouldn't have a right to a person's body as to what they can or cannot take.

That requires people to have 100% knowledge of what the drugs do, what the side effects are and what interaction problems they may cause. Even with professional doctors that is difficult. I think the restrictions should be on the doctor prescriptions and not on taking said drugs. You should be able to legally buy anything you want, but doctors should not be able to prescribe just anything they want. And all drugs sold whether it is canabis or Metphormin should be screened by the government for safety and validity.

9. This would require more government workers to revisit these laws and what animals should be protected.

I have no problem with Federalis being shifted from broken down agencies like the BATFE to implement a new animal protection regime.

10. IF you are talking education, that is fine. If you are talking about the government doing what they did in say New York City with soda size, then no. The government should educate people on nutrition, not enforce it.

Agree again.

But most of our discussion between the two of us is divisive and polarized. Why is this the case when we agree on the top concerns for our country?

I think you know the answer to that.

Anything jimblowme posts has too many words .
And you can't understand a third of them if you did you'd realized how deranged he is.
daws
please shut up
daws cant agree with restricting corporations like Monsanto, or removing corporate money from the political system and he fully supports the $4 TRILLION Quantitative Easing program that enriched Wall Street banks while the rest of America suffered.

He is just a corporate tool, end of story. Period.
You give that dumbfuck wayyyy too much credit man
Thanks to you both for proving me correct again.

What I and millions of others don't like & what may be the basis behind those crazy world take over conspiracies is the fact that they have bought, acquired, mergered and taken controlling interests in nearly all phases and aspects of the food supply and have become THE worlds largest-grossing seed company. By having acquired many of it's competitors, suppliers, and companies/corporations that somehow feed into that market, they are gaining a controlling interest in global food supply. They have even tried a few times to buy or take control of Syngenta, one of their biggest remaining competitors as recently as within the last year. Syngenta - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

GMO & Terminator Seeds

Yes, there is such a thing as terminator seed. Genetic use restriction technology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and are a part of GMO's. This means that any seed produced from the plant can NOT be saved & replanted for the next crop. You have to obtain new seed with each planting. These seeds are designed not to sprout, this is a part of GMO gene splicing. Monsanto has patented their seeds and have many lawsuits on their books involving it claiming patent infringement. Biggest problem here is that nature does not pay attention to laws nor can it be completely controlled. Using corn as an example, it is wind pollinated. GMO corn planted within just a few short miles of non GMO corn runs the risk of cross contamination and nature is guilty of patent infringement, yet Monsanto files suit. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose.
Hybridizing seeds & plants is a whole different story that I won't get into here or now, but it's different.

I may have posted this in that other thread, but let me say here too, that I think 90% of the public would agree with you.

But the corporations have been quite good at dividing the Working Class along racial and gender based lines, and so they get away with everything that they want to.

As long as we keep falling for the red herring division rhetoric then we cannot win.

This post is division rhetoric at its finest, matter of fact every thing you write is.

unfortunately that is too generous of a number. Most people don't know about the food on the store shelves, out of sight, out of mind mentality & don't question it. They still believe the pretty labels of marketing that show a nice farm with crops or animals in the picture & words saying just how healthy it is because of the supplements listed. I question the reason that any foods should even need to be supplemented. OR they believe the commercials about how wholesome the product is.
Take the milk industry for instance with those 'happy California cows' showing a few animals grazing on lush pasture while the cows are just munching away or laughing & singing or whatever. But make no mistake the conditions under which the animals are raised is NOT as advertised. Not just the milk cows, but look into also the feed lots or conditions of cattle, pigs & chickens. You may very well become a vegetarian. Just to give everyone a bit to chew on, look up Food, Inc for starters & watch it.

I'm not saying everyone on the planet should stop eating food from the store, because it's nearly impossible....but what I am saying and have always said...BE INFORMED & know just where you're investing your money and if at all possible, make a better choice.

But to get into it, as I had said elsewhere would take too much time & right now it's nice outside & it's calling my name...............

Of course, what I mean is that 90% of the public when shown the information agrees we need to reign in corporations like Monsanto.

But the political rhetoric leaves this serious stuff out and they focus on little dust ups like what Christi said to Rubio in the debate last Saturday, which is so ridiculous it is a joke....a joke on the American people that we dont have any good journalism in more these days.

7- I think Monsanto is an easy target for a more complex problem. Farmers are not forced to buy Monsanto seed in the first place- but they can't compete without Monsanto product- I think the issue is more complex than any simple answer that a Presidential candidate would ever attempt.

8- Heroin addiction and its relationship to opoiod pain killers- and blaming it on doctors is again too simple. Along with over prescription of pain killers- we also have under prescription of pain killers. More research on pain killers and pain is called for- along with addiction treatment and the end of criminalization of addicts. A serious problem but less a Presidential item than your first 6.

10.- Exactly what is the correct advise? Who should be providing that- and will anyone listen? Remember all the abuse Michelle Obama has gotten for daring to suggest that America feed our kids healthier foods? I think this is an issue that the 'blame government' will reject if it is government driven- by any President.

IT is their over all attempts to corner the market that gives their Terminator seeds the full monty. The Terminator seeds blow their pollen into the farm fields of other farmers who do not use or buy that seed from Monsanto and either because of their seed being corrupted by the 'no more generations' genes of the Monsanto crops or the Monsanto threats of copyright violation, the farmers lose their planting seed and usually wind up buying all their future seed from Monsanto, as I understand it.

Most Opioid pain killers are more addictive than street heroin if measured by rate of addiction.

It seems Presidential to me, but your mileage may vary.

I think Michelle went overboard imposing revisions to school menus.

I think we need an advisory for nutrition that has a good budget to get their message out.

Thank you for the reasonable response!

One of the biggest problem with Monsanto & it's technology & practices, etc is they are hand in hand with the government. There is a revolving door between the two for jobs. Several key Monsanto employees and executives have moved to key government positions and visa versa. Monsanto continues to position itself or create the circumstances that no matter what happens, they will benefit. Whether thru their biotech practices, farmers dependence on them for seeds & round up to kill weeds, public's dependence on the food produced from said seed, that causes cancer & other serious health effects and the drugs to combat them. And all with government approval. And it doesn't matter who is in office, Monsanto supports both sides of the aisle. So either way, they win

Monsanto Controls both the White House and the US Congress

This may illustrate the connections for better viewing. Monsanto's political connections include Hillary Clinton, Donald Rumsfeld, Clarence Thomas just to name a few.

Monsanto Employees in the Halls of Government

And they even have a law dedicated to them called the 'Monsanto Protection Act' and that pretty much says it all. They are protected by the government.

Obama signs 'Monsanto Protection Act' written by Monsanto-sponsored senator

Yep, I wish I could reasonably disagree, but Monsanto is one of the biggest threats to the USA as a food monopoly or Microsoft scale of dominance would be crippling for this nation.

But most of our discussion between the two of us is divisive and polarized. Why is this the case when we agree on the top concerns for our country?

I think you know the answer to that.

Our posts are mostly divisive in that we don't agree on WHO will actually fix those problems. You believe that the GOP will address those concerns at some time or in some way, but I don't think the GOP or Dems will address any of it at all. Also when I have disagreed with you, your comments to me are around the line of "You're an idiot" or "you are stupid", etc. I have addressed people how they address me.

You will find that if you address me with the same respect you want, I will do the same. I'll even let this post be the start and I will not address you in any way I don't want to be addressed. It is ok for people to disagree. Not everyone is going to think alike.

unfortunately that is too generous of a number. Most people don't know about the food on the store shelves, out of sight, out of mind mentality & don't question it.

Isn't it true that when presented with factual evidence, people do pay more attention? Before that, people don't care because they don't know and accept whatever they 'see' as advertised on the package label, tv commercials or some speculated discussion at the water cooler? Anyone that may know more facts usually know much more details than the average Joe's naïve beliefs and when brought up in contradiction to those beliefs, they will either believe, question their previous beliefs and/or demand facts to back it up. RIGHT? Since this is what you and others are doing right now.

Whether Jim's actual numbers are solid fact or speculation or guesstimate, doesn't really matter. Those demanding him to back it up are just picking it apart & missing the whole point and real problems. It is true and none can really deny that when people are made aware of the problems & challenges facing not just US food supply but the whole world because that's how big Monsanto is, more people see the need for better ethics in the handling of the food humans need in order to survive. As word is spread and people either accept it or even search it themselves, the numbers are climbing that want more done to ensure the safety & health of their food. There really are NO specific numbers or data available to back it up. Just know they are climbing at a steady rate. Especially since GMO's are in nearly everything and are so far reaching. The correlation between Monsanto's advances in biotechnology with GMO's, chemicals, etc and the rate increase in health problems including cancers, mental health issues, even environmental issues of soil health, honey bee & Monarch butterflies untimely demise, etc. people are beginning to question the safety of GMO's & the companies behind GMO's & their practices. It all depends on those consumers and just how far they are willing to search it out for themselves or rely on someone else's findings.

Does anyone here know that even what is labeled as 'Organic' isn't always 100% GMO free?????

Is Organic Always GMO Free?

If USDA certification requires at least 95% of content to be organic, and a GMO ingredient can’t be included in that 5%, then USDA Organic is GMO-free, right? Not always. Depending on the product, sometimes there are tiny loopholes.

Most food manufacturers such as Kraft & numerous others, use those tiny loopholes available in the law to get around it, still use some GMO tainted ingredients or whatever the loophole covers, just so they can claim the label 'Organic' and hopefully no one the wiser. Tricking the consumers into thinking all is well. when in fact, it's a step in the right direction, but not as well as they claim.

I challenge everyone here to do some of your own digging into the subject to find your own facts. Don't argue a point such as this without doing at least some of your own investigation. I have no doubt the majority will at the very least begin questioning their food supply. Even if only 5 of you out there are willing to step up & look into it, I'll bet every one will now be interested enough in the subject to question what they think about it and maybe even form an informed opinion. I would venture a guess of 4 of those same 5 might even make some changes to their grocery purchases during the next trip to the store, based on what they may have learned.
And there you have it...I just came up with a 90% or there about number for ya'll to chew on.

1. immigration period. Someone needs to discuss how to actually solve the problem. Not enact insane policies with a history of failure.
2. hell yes. They need to promote fair trade and quit punishing wealthy people for being smart and ambitious. Also, immigration.
3. Fuck yes. Which it has been mentioned but not near enough.
4.Government accountability. Period
5. Fuck yes
6. Suicide period. Maybe when they are ignorantly rambling on about guns, they could mention that too.
7. Monsanto just got criminally charged in France. Good deal. GMOs are ok but need ot be labeled. They also have way to much power. A farmer getting sued because their chemicals blew on their land? Give me a fuckin break
8. agreed. Drugs are a problem. That's why we should legalize them. Honestly, the thought of heroin being legal is fuckin nuts, but going by history, usage would go down. Just like prohibition of alcohol.
9. agreed. I don't think its pressing, but should be addressed.
10. Advisement perhaps. But that's it. Its not the govts job to tell us what we should eat.
if you actually believe the wealthier are being punished, then please explain to me, WHY are the wealthier, the only people getting even 'more' wealthy? How exactly, is that "punishment"?

It depends onthe issue and how people react.

Take for example the Holder DOJ denying that they will prosecute blacks for hate crimes against whites, and libtards love that stuff. They revel in it as if inequality for white workers is somehow a good thing, whent he white workers of today are not the ones who did the bad deeds, but have supported the reforms like the Civil Rights Act of 1964. But now they are feeling to reverse racism coming and libtards mock them.

I dont care who you are, what party you are in, but if you do that, then I think you are a freaking idiot. But that is why the parties promote these brain dead injustices so that the people that benefit from them can laugh at the people victimized by them and this creates more division and is an old trick used by the elites world over to keep workers suppressed. That makes the happy dancers complete morons and I tell it like it is.

Rather than a thin veneer of civility we need to purge the bad policies and ideological positions that cause the division in the first place, like denying there is even hypothetical possibility of antiwhite discrimination.
