It's not what the story was about but it still revealed Jordan's investment in subverting the Constitution. Indeed it does.

The Constitution instructs the VP to open the votes and that they shall then be counted. They can't all be counted if the VP unilaterally dismisses some. Doing that would subvert the Constitution; and that's what Jordan suggested Mike Pence do.
