Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed a bill into law that honors the lives of those who were killed during the tragic attacks on U.S. soil on Sept. 11, 2001.

Every public school in New York state will be required to take a moment of silence on Wednesday in remembrance of the devastating attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and United Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001, according to new state law.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) signed a bill into law on Monday establishing September 11th Remembrance Day at all public schools in the state in order to “ensure we never forget ― not just the pain of that moment but of the courage, sacrifice and outpouring of love that defined our response,” the governor said.

The legislation requires schools to take a “brief moment of silence” at the beginning of the school day on Sept. 11 every year. The bill was introduced into the New York Senate by state Sen. Joseph P. Addabbo (D) this year as another generation of students born after 2001 enters the school system.

We need to make 9-11 a national memorial holiday so that the Democrats will stop trying to celebrate it.

Really ??? I thought you Demon-crats hated laws being passed forcing free citizens to do something that they might not believe in or understand in a Democrat way ???? Who is this Cuomo anyway, that he thinks he can demand anyone to do such a thing as this ??? You people are crazy to think that such a law is cool as is spoken out of one side of your mouth, but then trash anything and everything that anyone else wants to honor or believe in along these same lines of thought ???

Pretty sure they (the politicians) have more important things to do but this at least gets them more votes.........

Maggot shit obama tried to make this into some kind of service day. Deep six that trash right away.

Should be the same for December 7th as well if you ask me

Also. In Canada we have Remembrance Day on Nov 11th, it should be a National Holiday.

People need to always be reminded what just nations fight for and those who have fought for them.

This is an excellent example of Nietzsche's condemnation of the Christian mindset; when victimhood and weakness are held as virtues the results will be a cult of death.

Our choir director in Wyoming, where I lived in 2001, lost his Aunt. I had a friend online where I posted who lost his Aunt, too, and he joined the army the next day and spent time in Afghanistan. He stayed in touch for a while. In the meantime, I came over to USMB a few years later, and he showed up here to a year later, but left after less than a year. He had a lot of anger. He served well, but war takes a toll on men and on angels. Our boys in Afghanistan and Iraq saw things nobody should ever have to see. I grew up in a family with a WWII and Korean War vet, and he had issues nobody should ever have to endure. He never let his stories reach a child's ear, but he suffered in many ways probably just from never expressing himself to anyone about his years of horror and losses only a soldier knows. That's all I'm gonna say on the issue, but I appreciate that the Governor of New York is asking the youth of his state to appreciate what families of first responders who died on 9/11 must feel, and that people remember their loved one's and their loss. Through my friends, I have a good idea about the loss and helplessness they felt upon hearing a special person in their life passed being exploded on a plane or vaporized in a building that was hit by a large missile full of passengers and several very evil men who slashed pilots juglars with small-bladed box openers in an attack straight out of hell.

I am going to spend time tomorrow making a first responder's quilt top and donating it to our local hugs baby project in their honor as my moment of silence. :huddle:
