New Texas voter ID law discriminates, federal judge rules

The Dirty Democrats blocking Voter ID so that Illegals can cancel out the votes of American citizens is 100% racist.
The Dirty Democrats using Sanctuary Cities to block the deportation of illegal alien criminals is 100% racist.

Why don't republicans propose a "worker ID" law.?

That's what we need.
why not give a photo id when one registers to vote with the voters info on the card they get with that photo. hmmmmm that seems simple.
also make it a biometric ID with finger prints and DNA sample
then you need no photo. takes care of that pesky expense of free pictures.

The texas law requires current (or at most 6 months expired) drivers license.Lots of old people gave up their drivers license, and now need to find a 70 year old birth certificate so they can get a "free" ID.
no they don't, again, you're fking lying. fk dude you sure are a liar. wow.

A former republican speaker of the house, no longer had a current drivers license and couldn't use his university of texas issued photo ID to register to vote.

If a college professor has problems registering, imagine the little people with grade school educations.

The TX Voter ID Law even allowed the Troglocrats to use a utility bill that has the person's name and address for an ID
Obviously the Racist Democrats are against Voter ID because it prevents their mass voter fraud

Yep, many Troglocrat Voters are uneducated illiterate cretins who want to vote multiple times under fake names

That was for proof of address. They still had to produce a government picture id, like a military ID, that didn't have their address on it in addition.

It's news not opinion. The texas voter ID law prevented a guy 3rd in line to be president, from registering to vote because his government picture ID didn't meet the texas voter ID standards.

Just how tough are new voter identification requirements in Texas? Apparently tough enough that former U.S. House speaker Jim Wright reportedly was denied a voter ID card on Saturday.

The 90-year-old told the newspaper he realized last week that he didn't have a valid ID to vote in Tuesday's elections. He said he was refused a voter ID card because his driver's license expired in 2010 and his faculty identification from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, where he teaches, doesn't meet requirements under the state law enacted in 2011.

yep it seems he doesn't keep anything current. he got his birth certificate and returned. the law also states one has six days to get proof of residency and ID.

Election officials have said voters without a valid photo ID or voter ID certificate can vote provisionally. The Texas secretary of state's website says a voter who casts a provisional ballot will then have six days to present proper ID to the county registrar."

Maybe not wait until the day of an election to make sure one's information is up to date. seems fair to ensure my vote isn't canceled by someone not voting in the correct precinct, twice or is an illegal. yep fair

BTW, ignorance is not a defense.

So what about the old person who made a special trip just to register, now has to jump through hoops to continue to vote.

It's noting but voter intimidation. It even slowed down somebody two heart beats away from the presidency. The id's Wright used the previous time he voted, were no longer valid.

maybe use a phone and find out ahead of time what to bring? I don't know, if someone is so senile they can't exist, perhaps voting isn't a good thing.
