Gingrich’s Health Care Group Supports a Mandate

By David Corn

The GOP candidate attacks Romneycare, but his for-profit policy shop backs its most controversial provision.

That's a mandate. That's the current position of Gingrich's Center for Health Transformation. There's no ambiguity. (The Gingrich campaign did not respond to a request for comment.)

Two pages of whining about Jackie Gingrich...

You know what, People won't care.

We just ain't that concerned. We didn't care that Clinton was raping people because the economy was good.

And we won't care that Gingrich took a dump on his wife 30 years ago when the economy is in the shitter that Obama has put it in.

Folks just don't care.

From what I can glean? The media portrayal wasn't as it seemed with his wife at the time...but twisting in the media is what people remember despite no real truth in the events...:eusa_whistle:

But hey? The left has to dredge up something...

If you'll remember, it was Republicans who pushed him out of his leadership position in 1999.

Maybe it's because the republicans have a higher standard than do the democrats. Maybe the democrats should take a few lessons from the republicans.

And why was that? So it disqualifies him now...that's the crux of your post, isn't it? Only a simple YES or NO answer will do.

That would be tentamount to admitting defeat...what are ya thinkin' man?:eusa_whistle:

Well, it was a bit more complicated than that.

And frankly, it was a poor move on their part. You look at what got accomplished during his four years as speaker, compared to what a dullard Denny Hastert was.

Yup, good old Go-Along, get Along Denny. Eventually lost the house majority...

Don't be silly. They pushed him out because he blew the 1998 midterm elections where the Democrats actually picked up seats. The fact is that Americans as a whole were totally against trying to drive Clinton from office. But Republicans didn't care what the American people wanted (Kinda like today) It was Tom DeLay (that paragon of virtue who was convicted of money laundering in TX in November of 2010) who insisted in going for impeachment instead of censure.

With that said, corruption is pretty much an equal opportunity sideline for politicians because our system is awash in money. Unfortunately, the SC decision in Citizens United vs the FEC case is only going to make it worse. However, it always seems that it's the Republicans who take it to a higher level.

While I'm at it, guess which presidential administration had more
scandals, resulting in the investigation, indictment, or conviction of over 138 administration officials, the most of any president?

It was conservatives' beloved Reagan.

And just to bring this post back to the present, we almost certainly wouldn't be having the OWS protests we're having right now if it wasn't for the fact that so many of our politicians sold out to special interests for money at the expense of average Americans.

And now? A former lobbyist, Newt Gingrich, who claims he wasn't a lobbyist at all, is at the top of the GOP race for the nomination. How ironic and absurd this all is. While OWS protesters are bemoaning corruption, the GOP now has a corrupt former lobbyist leading in the polls.

You almost gotta laugh. JFK had no baggage because the liberal media saw to it that all the Kennedy baggage would be checked in at the door. Bill Clinton had no baggage even though his own wife took charge of a corrupt dirty tricks mess called the "bimbo eruption squad". When the left wing media engages in a conspiracy to get democrats elected there is no limit on baggage. The media will check it in with no charge.
