Old news. He was pandering to Charlie Rangel and the NAACP, who wanted law enforcement to 'clean up black Hoods and the heroin trade that was destroying black neighborhoods. Nixon wanted to try and win back the black vote to the GOP. He also turned AA into the quota system, again for the same reasons, black politicians were demanding it.

Don't believe the current spin now being spewed by the low information types and propagandists; these were all 'problems' black people and their pols inflicted on themselves, as usual.

It happened like 40 years before that, it is no secrete the reason why weed was made illegal was because of racism and big alcohol .

Who was to blame for his stint in federal prison? Nixon. So he targets Nixon for wrong doings just as he felt the brunt of Nixon's scorn that sent him to prison.

If that administration was targeting blacks,, they would have selected a crime that only blacks are involved in...murder in the inner cities, i.e. black on black murders.

Drugs were popular with more than just blacks. Scores of whites went to prison, not just blacks.
