NLRB: College athletes can unionize

Once you pay them a salary, they lose their amateur status.

Once they lose their amateur status, they are no longer able to compete at the NCAA level.

The NCAA will hold their position, and students will have to decide if they wish to play or not.
The NCAA has outlived its usefulness and should be scraped. Along with the BCS.

Great.

How much do you pay the 'athletes'?

Do you pay an 'athlete' at Harvard the same that you pay the 'athlete' at Southern Baptist College For Revivalist Preachers?

Who determines that? You? :lmao:

The current system works pretty good.

A word of caution, people. You let dimocrap scum into this mess? They gonna fuck it up.

Word.

Most of these kids would never get any closer to a College Campus than the Janitor's Room without College athletics.

A lot of other kids who have about as much chance of making the NFL or NBA as I do (none) get a free education and some very good experience in life-lessons.

dims would fuck up a one-car-funeral.

Every time.

Nothing's perfect but you let a libturd get involved...... They'll make it worse. Every time

College athletes, IMO, do get paid...especially at the D1 level. Free education, free meals, free travel, free tutoring, state of the art medical care, state of the art facilities, fame...oh and most importantly, opportunity that most of them would not have if they didn't have superior athletic ability. College athletes can't complain, they are much better off than the student who has to struggle while they work and attend classes.

So the other 25+ sports that offer scholarships and opportunities for people to get an education are gone then?

If they help generate the money, why shouldn't they get a portion of it.

Most of the kids are fortunate to be able to play football for a free ride and a college degree with no debt.

They do.

It's called 'scholarships'

And should the Star QB get paid more than the 3rd String O-Guard?

How about the cheerleaders? Wanna pay them too?

How about the trainers? Sure, let's pay them.

Then there's the Marching Bands. Let's pay them, too.

And let's not forget the Student Cheering Section that holds up the cards that say....Whatever.

libturds are just simply stupid. You just don't think

Superior or honed? They put in a lot of work for that ya know

One hundred percent agree on this.

Yup. Many of them wear their IQ numbers on their Jerseys.

Many (read; most) College Athletes also get tutored. A lot.

Some of them hardly ever show up for class.

Ever heard one of them talk? They'll end up with a degree if they want one. Without ever being able to speak the English Language.

Who's zoomin' who?

You're for it.

That's enough

The athletes do get the money in the form of a free college education. Which can be quite pricey.
Unions have no place in the scheme of things involving college athletes.
Just shows how desperate unions are getting if they are going after the college athlete

Really? Who added more to Ohio State's 'bottom line': me or Archie Griffin?

Are you saying athletes are more important than teachers and scientists?
Not at all. But top shelf athletes bring in more money.

So universities should be more capitalist? Why are we hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society?

Some do, some don't

Like Kobe Bryant. He was BORN with that talent.

So was LeBron.

So were a LOT of athletes.

But a lot more do have to work their asses off to make it to the professional level.

Where else would they be allowed to do that, if not in College?

They get free tuition, free room and board, free instruction, free training, free tutoring, free- Everything.

And the truth is -- 99% of them never make it to the Pros.

THOUSANDS of College Basketball players are getting a free ride as we speak.

How many will get drafted this spring by the NBA?

60?

Whatever

You just don't think

Here is the big problem. The coach of a winning program gets such a larger percentage than the ones doing the work.
Again. Leave it up to the wealth re-distribution group to short change the real workers.

I agree, being an athlete at the D1 level takes a lot of effort and commitment. Superior, for the most part, was a poor choice of words.

P.S.

The NBA? It has around 360 players that dress. 30 more that are some sort of reserve.

Of those 360, 93 (ninety-three) of them are Foreign Born. That's 25% for you dims.

Watch the NBA Draft this year and see how many Foreign Players are taken.

A lot.

Thousands of College kids getting a free ride by playing a child's game with a round ball, and you people, you idiot dims, want to upset the apple-cart and demand the College pay them?

They'll just start shutting programs down before they mess with that shit.

You people, you dims, you really are some stupid fucks

Um the coach is working 18+ hour days in season and damn near 365 days a year when it comes to recruiting. And when the team is successful year in and year out they bring in millions of dollars of revenue.

Most college athletes have to do all that too, even at the D1 level.
