What gets forgotten in discussions of land is the difference between 'private', 'state', 'church' and 'public'
Palestinians could have, and some did, pursue their claim on family land, but they have to become citizens of Israel. They can't cut bits and pieces from Israel to create their state. It makes Israel too vulnerable to attack. There are already too many attacks by palestinians against Israel and Israelis.
Land in Israel or under Israeli control is Israeli. When the security of Israel is not being threatened, Israel and the PA can cooperate and Israel gradually withdraws out of zone A & B in the WB.
Israel withdrew from gaza and hamas waged war on the PA/fatah government and won't work with the PA to set up a unity government so they can eventually negotiate an agreement with Israel and begin building a strong state
Firing on Israel is only going to slow the process. Fighting with the PA is only going to slow the process.
threatening Israel will only make Israel need more security and less flexible in negotiations.
How is this so hard for them to understand?
Israel has tried and tried again but some pal faction or another throws a wrench in the worksIsrael withdrew from gaza and hamas waged war on the PA/fatah government...
Not true. (Again) Hamas was the majority party in the PA. Remember, Fatah lost the elections.
And hamas went on a rampage and mass murdered thousands of fatah members/supporters in gaza
