Obama calls IRS targetting outrageous

They came up with the idea all on their own.

Uh huh

A Bush appointee suddenly decided to go after the Tea Party, all because of a video!

Seems like BAU.
WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service is reviewing the tax-exempt status of the nation's oldest civil rights organization, saying criticism of President Bush at the NAACP's national convention in July may have violated rules against partisan activity.

NAACP Chairman Julian Bond says about the IRS probe: "We intend to fight this with every resource we have."
By Henry Koshollek, The Capital Times file

In a letter dated Oct. 8, the IRS said it had "received information" that NAACP Chairman Julian Bond "condemned the administration policies of George W. Bush on education, the economy and the war in Iraq" in a July 11 speech.

Only now when it hits something you folks care about..you um.."care".

USATODAY.com - NAACP in hot water over speech

Ohhhhhhh......we can't audit them cuz they're black now?????

If you can find a systemic attempt to go after every single African-American group in the country, then you might have something.

As it is....all you have is..phfffft.

Ah..so you are in FAVOR of this sort of behavior, right?

You have no trouble whatsoever with the IRS auditing political groups..whether that be Tea Party or NAACP?

Okay..we disagree.

I don't think the IRS should be doing this. In either case.

I like to give Obama credit when he does the right thing.

He did the right thing.

Amid outcry over revelations that Internal Revenue Service specialists specifically targeted conservative groups for scrutiny before the 2012 elections, President Barack Obama said Monday that the tax agency employees' reported conduct was "outrageous" and "contrary to our traditions."
Appearing at a White House press conference with British Prime Minister David Cameron, the president said he does not want to judge the findings of an Inspector General investigation "prematurely" but said that if the reports of political targeting are found to be correct, those responsible must be held "fully accountable."
"If in fact IRS personnel engaged in the kind of practices that have been reported on and were intentionally targeting conservative groups, then that’s outrageous and there’s no place for it," he said

The muthafuggah found out about it on the tv news...how's that for presidential leadership???

Obama uses the same tactic he's been using for 5 years.

Deny, deny, deny, and make self-rightious statements about bringing the guilty to justice. Yet nobody ever seems to get punished.
Maybe he can slap the cuffs on himself, because this has Barrack H. Obama written all over it. Nobody will be punished because they were just following orders.

Funny; The left can get away with blaming Bush for Abu Gharab but can't seem to put 2 and 2 together on Fast & Furious, Benghazi, the release of thousands of criminal illegals before Sequester, or this IRS witch hunt. The IRS answers directly to the President. Clinton used them to attack political enemies and so did Nixon. They didn't do this without approval from the White House.

ya, max baucus called for irs investigations into rw groups in 2010 and now gets all sanctimonious about having the irs investigated now
the dems have this secret code.
nod nod wink wink
the dems have been using this tactic for years now.

Obama said the right thing... but watch what he does, don't rely on what he says. He has a history... like "transparency", "no lobbyists in the white house".. etc.. remember those? He will say what's best for his America destroying agenda. Is it true that Hillary was overheard asking "what difference does it make?"

Of course he said the right thing, it's not like he has a problem speaking, like George.

That was a disturbing confession...he's either lying, or he's surrounded by people who are incompetent and/or out to further discredit him. Shit, the media does a better job of covering his back than people in his own administration.

I am pretty sure "the reported conduct of a small number of Internal Revenue Service employees” will be dealt with swiftly. It is then that Obama will claim a victory for the American people.

Obama, "the IRS acted stupidly."

He does understand that he is in charge of the government. The liberal left likes to keep pointing back to Bush, can you imagine if during Bush the Fudge Packers Union was targeted for audit?

I wonder how 'small' the number really was and how high up it goes?

Initially the IRS said lower-level employees were to blame and no senior officials knew. However, according to a draft of an inspector general’s report obtained by the AP, senior IRS officials were aware of the bad behavior.

LOL I like this explanation, "approximately 75 of the 300 groups that were filed for further review were simply filed because they had the names "tea party" and "patriot," Lerner said.

"They did pick the cases by names and that's absolutely inappropriate and not the way we should do things," she said, though stressing it was done as a "shortcut," not out of "political bias."

That is not a confession. You just might be a hack.

Wow, anything to deflect...although admission is a synonym for confession, and he most certainly should be ashamed and embarrassed at how he supposedly learned of the situation. You just might be shitting your pants.:D

You see...Obama's first reaction is always to lie and omit and cover up ...... then ...depending how the wind blows regarding public opinion, he comes back with half baked truths .... to admit reality of events is to this man like pulling teeth ..... what first comes out of his mouth generally is a lie and is always related to his political agenda.

George wasn't a good speaker at all. Obama is very smooth at his deception and lying. That's what makes him all the more dangerous. It is very easy to lead the mindless with smooth talk.

Sorry bout that,

1. I wonder how long it will take before some one rolls over on Obama on this?
2. We all know he was behind it, don't we?
3. Well at least *I Know*.

It's safe to say that when Obama calls the IRS targeting "outrageous", what he really means is that it's outrageous that his henchthugs got caught.
