Obama throws Sony Pictures under the bus

So Obama unjustly went after Sony and threw them under the bus, during probably the worst time in the company's history, when they were on their knees, trying to survive a state sponsored hacking
Put up some proof about that "state sponsored hacking," Hack.

Heh heh heh. It wants proof that the hacking was a N. Korean job.

I'll take the FBI's conclusion over your stupid Russia New propoganda blog, okay Achmed? What a nitwit.

Sony released the movie today on line. I watched it this morning.

I can understand why north korea isn't happy with this movie. It doesn't show them in a very good light.

The movie is mildly funny and has something to say. I recommend seeing it.

I think it was a good move on Sony's part to release it not just to America but to the world on line.

Anyone who thinks it's a bad idea to stand up to a dictator is bat crap crazy. Anyone who is mad at Obama for standing up to a dictator is just a partisan hack who can't get past their hatred for our president.

Obama did the right thing. No dictator in north korea has any right to decide what movie we can see or what movie can be made.

I guess you don't know about the American attitude that we won't be jacked around by a dictator.

Only a spineless conservative would cower in fear of a dictator. Real Americans spit in that dictator's face and supports freedom of speech.

Before all this happened, I wasn't planing to see the movie but when north korea tried to tell me what I can or can't see, I wanted to see the movie and did just as soon as it was available.

Because they found other theaters and online clients interested in showing it. In other words, their original customers backed out, and they had to renegotiate new contracts in a matter of days. So the president should have kept his mouth shut.

Only reason they bothered was because Obama shamed them into do it.

So Obama unjustly went after Sony and threw them under the bus, during probably the worst time in the company's history, when they were on their knees, trying to survive a state sponsored hacking.

What are "friends" for, after all.

Kind of their own fault.

They were the ones who decided to make this film, which i'm told is about as funny as a North Korean famine.

They were the ones who failed to secure their networks after already being the victims of a massive hack in 2011 in the games division.

They were the ones who pulled the movie, and after being jeered by everyone (not just the President) they backed off and will release it now.

FBI mdash Update on Sony Investigation

Update on Sony Investigation
Washington, D.C.December 19, 2014
  • FBI National Press Office 202) 324-3691

Today, the FBI would like to provide an update on the status of our investigation into the cyber attack targeting Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE). In late November, SPE confirmed that it was the victim of a cyber attack that destroyed systems and stole large quantities of personal and commercial data. A group calling itself the “Guardians of Peace” claimed responsibility for the attack and subsequently issued threats against SPE, its employees, and theaters that distribute its movies.

The FBI has determined that the intrusion into SPE’s network consisted of the deployment of destructive malware and the theft of proprietary information as well as employees’ personally identifiable information and confidential communications. The attacks also rendered thousands of SPE’s computers inoperable, forced SPE to take its entire computer network offline, and significantly disrupted the company’s business operations.

After discovering the intrusion into its network, SPE requested the FBI’s assistance. Since then, the FBI has been working closely with the company throughout the investigation. Sony has been a great partner in the investigation, and continues to work closely with the FBI. Sony reported this incident within hours, which is what the FBI hopes all companies will do when facing a cyber attack. Sony’s quick reporting facilitated the investigators’ ability to do their jobs, and ultimately to identify the source of these attacks.

As a result of our investigation, and in close collaboration with other U.S. government departments and agencies, the FBI now has enough information to conclude that the North Korean government is responsible for these actions. While the need to protect sensitive sources and methods precludes us from sharing all of this information, our conclusion is based, in part, on the following:

  • Technical analysis of the data deletion malware used in this attack revealed links to other malware that the FBI knows North Korean actors previously developed. For example, there were similarities in specific lines of code, encryption algorithms, data deletion methods, and compromised networks.
  • The FBI also observed significant overlap between the infrastructure used in this attack and other malicious cyber activity the U.S. government has previously linked directly to North Korea. For example, the FBI discovered that several Internet protocol (IP) addresses associated with known North Korean infrastructure communicated with IP addresses that were hardcoded into the data deletion malware used in this attack.
  • Separately, the tools used in the SPE attack have similarities to a cyber attack in March of last year against South Korean banks and media outlets, which was carried out by North Korea.
We are deeply concerned about the destructive nature of this attack on a private sector entity and the ordinary citizens who worked there. Further, North Korea’s attack on SPE reaffirms that cyber threats pose one of the gravest national security dangers to the United States. Though the FBI has seen a wide variety and increasing number of cyber intrusions, the destructive nature of this attack, coupled with its coercive nature, sets it apart. North Korea’s actions were intended to inflict significant harm on a U.S. business and suppress the right of American citizens to express themselves. Such acts of intimidation fall outside the bounds of acceptable state behavior. The FBI takes seriously any attempt—whether through cyber-enabled means, threats of violence, or otherwise—to undermine the economic and social prosperity of our citizens.

The FBI stands ready to assist any U.S. company that is the victim of a destructive cyber attack or breach of confidential business information. Further, the FBI will continue to work closely with multiple departments and agencies as well as with domestic, foreign, and private sector partners who have played a critical role in our ability to trace this and other cyber threats to their source. Working together, the FBI will identify, pursue, and impose costs and consequences on individuals, groups, or nation states who use cyber means to threaten the United States or U.S. interests.

I'll take the FBI's conclusion over your stupid Russia New propoganda blog

Already did, Achmed, here it is again, asswipe:

Umm no. Because the agreed to let the same theaters who hadn't backed out have a copy. Three of them being near me. Nice fail though.

Really Achmed? Tell us something that we didn't already know.

The point is, Hussien Onama has such little honor that he even throws the people who got him elected under the bus, for brownie points.

You think the rich executives at Sony were the ones who elected him?

Look, the problem with you Obama haters is that if he said nothing about this, you'd have accused him of knuckling under to North Korea. Instead, he shamed Sony into reversing itself, and you are pissed at him for that.

why does Obama need to stick his nose into the situation?

Without Hollywood's backing, and the leftist media there would be no president Obama. That is abundantly clear. Who do you think mans those $50,000 to $100,000 a plate fundraisers every time Obama visits Los Angeles? Yup, Hollywood bigwigs. STUPIDO.

He didn't shame Sony into anything. All he did was lie and and throw an ally under the bus just to score political points. Sony renegotiated it's supply chains and is now showing the movie. All that the president did was prove to his friends in Hollywood is he has no honor.

guy, you keep trying to pretend that Obama's election wasn't an outpouring of electoral support. The man got the two highest vote totals in history. ANd it wasn't because some "rich hollywood types" - mostly actors like Wil Smith and Angelina Jolie who were dissed by the Sony Bigwigs - donated to him. IN fact, most of Obama's donations came from small donors.

Sony had every intention of burying this film until Obama and others called them on it. They were cowards. Obama called them on it. Good for him.

So Obama doesn't enjoy godlike support from the media or Hollywood eh?

Yeah, he sure got a lot of votes, considering all the ACORN voter fraud, and Black Panther Nation of Islam voter intimidation and suppression that occurred.

Wow, dude, that was seriously paranoid.

Yeah, had nothing to do with the fact Bush fucked up the war, the economy and the response to Katrina or his Congressmen were hitting on little boys.
