When I was a kid, CEO's earned around 40 times the wage of the average worker. Now it's 300 to 400 times the wage of the average worker. If they are so good, where are the jobs?

A CEO's job is not to create jobs, it is to increase return on investment for the people who risked their capital in the enterprise.

When it is your capital at risk, you have some say in how much the CEO makes. If it is not your capital at risk, it is none of your friggin business.

See, this is macro ecconomics, not just your little business- The workers will get, say, 20% more, prices will go up 4%, and DEMAND will go up 10%.

Like I said, no concept of how the world really works. See, maybe the workers get 20% more, but one in five loses his/her job. But DEMAND goes down instead of up because now people are more scared of losing their job so they don't spend more than they have to.

It always amazes me, the way lefties think about jobs and the economy. It's like we can raise the minimum wage and the bosses will just get less income, the greedy bastards. They don't think about the small businesses that are already on the edge and will go out of business cuz it just ain't worth it to keep going. They don't realize that business is business, if the expected ROI isn't good enough then the new startups won't happen and job growth is diminished.

When I was a teenager, in the 50's, we had young men and women as ushers in movies. We had young men and women pumping gas and putting air in tires. We had teenagers sweeping floors and stocking shelves in markets. There were numerous opportunities for after school jobs, for high school kids to make some pocket money and learn what it took to stay employed. The congress raised the minimum wage, and almost all of those jobs have disappeared.

Do you really think we are better off for that increase in the minimum wage?
