CNN had a woman on with severe diabetes, she can't afford her insulin (Obamacare? WTF health insurance do Federal workers have?)
Insulin therapy is a common treatment for people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, but insulin prices have skyrocketed in the last several years. Diabetes Management's digital edition reports that the cost of insulin has increased from $100 to $200 per month to $400 to $500 per month, depending on the brand.

The added stress of the shutdown and no pay has made her sugar level go to 600+, which is dangerously high.
Emotional stress (fear, anxiety, anger, excitement, tension) and physiological stress cause the body to secrete stress hormones into the bloodstream. ... For people with diabetes, stress can cause a significant and prolonged increase in the blood sugar level.

US federal worker unable to pay for insulin due to partial government shutdown

I hope they either compromise by Friday, or Trump declares a national emergency and get the Federal employees back to work.

The Socialist Democrats of America are causing people to stress to the point of death over 0.0125% of the US Income.

It will be a crisis, a crisis I tell you. People will die because the government shutdown...real estate...something. Trump's a Russian agent...and Trump...and global warming...the NRA...:aargh::aargh::aargh:
The people who are truly getting hurt are D donors and D voters. Gail comes from Republican upstate NY so she gets good intelligence from there. If you don't have a pension and a paid for house anywhere in the state you are in deep trouble due to the minimum wage hike and increased regulation.

I don't like any of the answers.

"No, but some people are desparate to hold out and gain power by importing constituents, so...the 'greater good' and shit."

We have all had similar problems and worse-nobody came to help me. Let AOC handle it-she says she can do anything.

To sit on millions of dollars and fly on private jets while you are blocking the paychecks of 800,000 people is just criminal and, honestly, I wouldn’t want that karma on my head because that is a horrible, horrible thing to do

Progressives have grown our federal government into an unconstitutional monstrosity. Legally, the federal government is supposed to only oversee 18 specific items. Instead, it’s grown into thousands because of the power-hungry, money-hungry left.
Looking around America, I see people going about their business—families eating in restaurants, employees going to work, children playing in playgrounds, etc. I have to ask: Where’s the crisis?
This shutdown just illustrates how much of this bloated monstrosity we don’t even need. It is time to restore constitutional government.

So she has 2 vials, yet she is rationing it. How do you ration insulin-

Mallory (31) has just two vials of insulin left in her fridge and is trying to get by on as little as possible.

And from what I can find, most vials last a couple of months or longer.

How many people does the govt. get to employ with a Constitutional govt. in the US?

Personally, I think he knew exactly what he was doing. His detractors are blissful in their ignorance and self-assuredness that he is "mentally unstable". But if you look closely at everything he's done so far, the guy is a freaking genius...

"Has President Trump suckered Democrats and the Deep State into a trap that will enable a radical downsizing of the federal bureaucracy? In only five more days of the already "longest government shutdown in history" (25 days and counting, as of today), a heretofore obscure threshold will be reached, enabling permanent layoffs of bureaucrats furloughed 30 days or more.

Don't believe me that federal bureaucrats can be laid off? Well, in bureaucratese, a layoff is called a RIF – a Reduction in Force – and of course, it comes with a slew of civil service protections. But, if the guidelines are followed, bureaucrats can be laid off – as in no more job..."

How does it feel to be wrong yet again...at least you are consistent at being a fool and falling for fake news.

Bill Announcement | The White House

All you have to do is get people to work for nothing. Easy.
