One mother complains and annual Kindergarten trip to see Santa cancelled

no i am saying if one religion should only be practiced at home then apply that to all religions....simple solution to what seems to be a major problem for christians

The "major problem" as you put it goes way beyond Christianity.
In America, Christmas celebrations are in our country's DNA. Whether you are religious or not, the vast majority of us have always celebrated everything about it from our own homes, workplaces, schools, stores, everywhere.
More and more we see asshole liberals attempting to tear our traditions down. You are so afraid someone may be offended, you demand a society that if all groups cannot be recognized, then no group should.
Problem is, you people forget that you're offending us. Why aren't you concerned about that ?
Visiting Santa, sitting on his lap, and asking him for presents is a family activity, not a school activity. I don't agree with the woman that this is wrong because it promotes Christianity. It doesn't. Santa isn't Christianity. But she's right for the wrong reasons. Having kids ask "Santa" for presents is not an appropriate, school activity.

i wholeheartedly agree with this - and i would bet that played more into the decision to cancel than any complaint made.

The schools up here forbid kids from bringing Valentines to class a few years ago... It's getting stupid.

This is the sort of thing that happens when liberals are in charge. Liberals shit their pants every time they think someone may be offended, so traditions need to stop according to these pricks.
One, not much of a tradition.
Two, not seeing Santa is a War on CHRISTmas? Interesting...

Valentines, or Santa are "not much of a tradition".

Right ! Uh, want planet was it again you just arrived from ?

There is nothing in the article that indicates this woman is a liberal, only that she's Jewish.

She's an American Jew, she's very likely a Dimocrat.
This is something liberals continually do anyway. They work daily to trash and tear down our traditions.

3-2-1.........

Except there is no evidence of her being a liberal, only Jewish. Take your Jewish bigotry, and shove it up your a$$.

In this case, it has been a tradition for this schools Kindergarten going back about 10 years, and it's the sort of thing that is all part of traditional American society.

Just imagine if a school had children write in Arabic script about Mo. Oh, wait, we saw that meltdown shut down an entire school district.

That's not a tradition in this country, so we say no to it.
Your love for traditions is quaint.
That was an educational activity, and yet it was loudly protested and the school was shut down.

This activity had no educational value.

According to the article, this woman's complaint is that there are a half-dozen other cultures in that class which aren't fairly represented during holiday season.

and if the school hadn't been so dumb as to start the trip in the first place those kids wouldn't be disappointed.

Santa Field Trip Canceled in San Jose: Mom Accused of Waging 'War on Christmas'
Sartorette Elementary School canceled a planned field trip to visit Santa at a local coffee shop after one parent complained.

A San Jose kindergarten class’s field trip to visit Santa was abruptly canceled this week, launching a Christmas controversy that has left a slew of hurt feelings and a planned protest in which parents will take their children to visit St. Nick anyway.

Sartorette Elementary School students were slated to walk to a nearby coffee shop on Friday morning to sip hot chocolate and sit on Santa’s lap, as they have for the past 10 years. But that tradition is over – at least for this year – after a Jewish mother said she didn’t want her 5-year-old daughter to participate.

Now, plenty of parents are mad at the woman, calling her out and unfriending her on Facebook. She says one parent volunteer shouted at her on Wednesday morning: "You’re the one who started the war on Christmas."

Talia, a certified California teacher herself who requested her last name not be used, says she didn’t like the fact that one religion, Christianity, was the focus of most of the December teachings in school. Specifically, she didn’t like her daughter writing letters to the North Pole for two days in a row, dressing up as reindeer, and a big annual field trip to the local coffee shop where the kids sit on Santa’s lap and ask for presents.

San Jose Mom Accused of Waging 'War on Christmas'
Schools are run by leftist pansies. The cowards bow to every demand of every individual if the result can hurt kids.

Some of the little kids were going to ask "Santa" for a present they weren't going to get. Those little kids would have been looking forward to getting those things. It should be up to the parents to decide whether they want their kids to be asking Santa for presents.
