Ever since Democrats took over all the political power in California, it's been doing fantastic - it now has a $4 billion surplus!

I'll take those "hairbrained Liberal" policies any day.

that surplus will soon be gone Synth.....and Democrats have been the major players out here for some time now.....

Why? Is a Bush about to become Governor? :)

Was Arnold a Democrat? What was the deficit the day Jerry Brown took office?
Why? Is a Bush about to become Governor?

because they spend everything they make AND they will have to be paying quite a bit to the States retirees pension fund which i heard was way more than 4 billion.....

Was Arnold a Democrat?

doesnt matter what he was he was pretty shitty Gov....and the Gov dont run this State unless the Legislature lets him.....which is why this State has been called..."the ungovernable State".....

when Pete Wilson stepped down in 99 he left a 13 billion dollar surplus....then Davis took over and the crash began.....

What was the deficit the day Jerry Brown took office?

what was it when Pete Wilson stepped down and Grey Davis took over?....what was it when Arnold took over?....does that really matter?....its what they do when they get in that counts....and the only people prospering in this State are the populated rich Counties where all the really rich people live.....the rest of the State?.....30 out of 58 Counties are at 9% UE or higher....and lots of farmers, are not farming.....and they feed a lot of this Country....but but who gives a shit,as long as the rich get what they need....

Business and people cant get out of California fast enough........

Why are people leaving California, and, who are they? | Radio Vice Online

48th worst business tax climate and people in that hideous state pay 50% more for electricity than the national average due to mega-stoopid green energy policies. Like I said.,.....the place is evolving into a Jonestown.......a socialists dream but a total snake pit.

Liberal k00ks have pulled stunts here in NYC too.......what we call "dangerous safety".......in the 70's, some genius' came up with the idea of slowing subways down from 70mph to 55mph to reduce suicides. Fucking brilliant........within 2-3 years, people took to traveling into the city by car and the traffic deaths on NY borough highways skyrocketed!!!

These people should never be put in charge of anything.........but in California, these morons are running the show. Bridge nets...........:rofl::rofl::eusa_dance:

What will it be next.......technology on trains to scoop track jumpers into a cozy, warm container of slime foam???!! If it happens, California will be first!!!

yea this State is so bad that from the 50's into the 80's all you fuckers from the other States were falling over each other moving here.....now with assholes like you here look how all you basterds have changed the place.....i hope your getting those same people back so they can fuck up your State...

Who cant burst out laughing with this idea??!!!

Safety nets on bridges to stop jumpers......at the taxpayers expense!!!

Golden Gate Bridge set to take measures to dissuade people from jumping - Telegraph

Always look to California for the most innovatively stoopid idea's on the planet!!! Every day, they give you a new reason never to visit this Godforsaken state!!:D:D:2up::eusa_dance::eusa_dance: Always wondered how California somehow became the test-run state for every hairbrain liberal idea?

Lotta people jumping off the Golden Gate or something? If people wanna kill themselves, let them. Talk about basic human rights. Sure they're sick and could easily get better, but forcing people to endure suffering for our comfort is unfair. Prevent jumpers at a bridge and they'll just leap from buildings probably onto someone's car or head thus endangering others. Let em leap from a bridge onto the water, clean up's a helluva lot easier.

China has suicide nets on their buildings. That's where we got the idea. Of course it won't stop the number of suicides, it will just redirect suicides.

Not true. The Jarvis/Gann coalition has been the elephant in the legislature for decades (since 1978), and has now been tamed. CA voters passed Proposition 25; the Majority Vote for the Legislature to Pass the Budget Act. On the November 2, 2010 ballot in California as an initiated constitutional amendment, where it was approved.

Proposition 25 ends the previous requirement in the state that two-thirds of the members of the California State Legislature had to vote in favor of the state's budget in order for the budget to be enacted. Proposition 25 also requires state legislators to forfeit their pay in years where they have failed to pass a budget in a timely fashion.

Now the perennial minority party, the Republicans, cannot hold the budget hostage. For years R's voted for spending but refused to raise taxes to pay for their pet projects. For example, the three strikes law which has placed persons convicted of a minor crime in prison for 25 years, all because they committed a felony in the past.

What is not true is that Democrats have been the major players out here for some time. I explained why (see the Elephant in the Legislature, comment). If you've lived here since 1978 you know that prop. 13 changed everything - some changes were very good, others created the climate of discord which created the mess inherited by Gov. Brown.

Every year the minority party, the R's, held hostage the budget by refusing to raise taxes. They were willing, of course, to raise fees which are a regressive for of taxation; raising fees was insufficient to take care of California's many needs.

The entire anti tax crusade began here in 1978. If cutting taxes alone was thought to be the panacea for all that is wrong here and across the nation, we should disabuse ourselves of this idea for it has proved to be a failure. We need to embrace pragmatism and seek to define the real problems and seek to find ways to mitigate or eliminate them. Deciding on the solution before understanding the problems is what got us into this mess.

Too bad this moron hasn't read Durkheim on Suicide or Camus', "The Myth of Sisyphus". Of course being a callous conservative (CC) he wouldn't understand them; one really needs to have empathy first, and empathy is not in his DNA.

Wry you are way more Democrat than me.....so of course you are going to see what you see.....i see a mostly Democratic Legislature with some Asswipe Republicans in there, who have made Cal the so called "Un-governable" State.....google California Ungovernable and see how many sites come up.....Prop 13 was good intended and should have been modified way back when....and Brown wasnt the only Gov to have to deal with its negative effects.....

Actually, it will save lives.

Well.....you mean it will reduce bridge jumping s0n!!:clap2:

Thomas Sowell: 'AT WHAT PRICE?' - The Difference Between Liberals and Conservatives

No, they'll still jump but it will prevent them from hitting the water. Which will save lives.
I watched a pretty compelling documentary on the issue a few years back and it will save lives. They might try and do it again elsewhere but the GG Bridge is like a flame for moths, it brings people from all over to jump off of it.

"Today, however, California has become a warning sign. Beset by economic disaster and political paralysis, the state is in the midst of a systemic crisis. And while the meltdown has certainly been accelerated by the recession of the past two years, its causes involve two decades of poor judgment, reckless mismanagement, and irresponsibility. How California got into this mess has a lot to teach the rest of the country; how it gets out will say a great deal about America's prospects."

California's longterm prognosis is a laugh......% of adults without a high school education is second highest in the nation.....healthcare quality ridiculously low ranking........and thanks to the unions and retirement obligations, this state of jackasses is 300 billion in the red at least. You want to be taxed with the mega one up the pooper? Move to California!!! Oh.....and enjoy the blackouts!!! State gets the trophy for astronomically high electricity costs.:eusa_dance::eusa_dance::rock:

Oh yeah......:2up:California is fucking awesome:2up:.......in the coming years, they'll have to build even more bridges for people to jump from.......and they'll be jumping alot.......so they can keep most of them quiet as the bodies float out to sea!!!

HAPPY NOW:happy-1::happy-1::happy-1::happy-1::happy-1::wink_2:

HAPPY NOW:happy-1::happy-1::happy-1::happy-1::happy-1::wink_2:
how come you did not put this paragraph up sKOOK?....

And through a series of social, political, and economic experiments, California has acted as America's foremost laboratory of innovation, trying out ideas the country as a whole would go on to adopt. In the 1960s under Governor Pat Brown, the state offered a model of modernization, building the most advanced education and transportation infrastructures in the nation. Under Brown's successor, Ronald Reagan, it offered a model of conservative governance that would go on to transform American politics. Hollywood has made California a crucial part of America's cultural identity, and Silicon Valley has put it at the heart of our vision of the future. For many decades now, Americans have seen California as a harbinger of promising things to come.

so the State stumbles and assholes like you are there kicking it.....maybe all those good years you were just too awestruck and jealous.....now you feel you can jump up and down like a genuine moron usually does .....like i said before sKOOK....a few short years ago you fuckers were tripping over yourselves to live here.....even now it still kicks whatever you call a States ass in GSP....
