Over-Population Mythology

Isn't it funny how you can't have an honest debate, and when you're wrong, completely resort to pointless insults?
Hunger Statistics WFP United Nations World Food Programme - Fighting Hunger Worldwide

I have no reason to debate....I simply explain why I'm right.

And....have no trouble accurately describing you.
Then why the hell are on a political site?

My function is education of dolts like you.....often, that means exploding Liberal myths....

....such as the fable that the world is overpopulated and this is some sort of crisis that only Leftist elites can conquer.

As the thread proves....a totally absurd myth.

As are you.
You never end up exposing anything, you're a butthurt woman who wants to blame everything wrong on "liberals" and you continually fail to address that millions starve to death every year, if you deny that, you're a fucking sick person. The world isn't overpopulated, as of now, we all agree on this, you want to run with what some nut says and stereotype all "liberals." Tell me, where would we be right now without liberalism? Your a top of the line nutjob who relies on quoting random books and fucking infowars/taking everything out of context/quote mining..

The wheel's spinning, but the hamster's dead.

There's no award for stupid....so stop competing
This is politicalchic, she denies that millions starve to death every year, she calls everyone stupid who disagrees with her..

By definition, if you disagree with the facts that I post....you are stupid.

On the outside I may appear rude, abrasive and sarcastic, but, just like an onion, when you peel away the layers, ...you'll find the same thing..and you'll cry like a baby.

Rather than a burgeoning world population....the rate has actually fallen.
What is it that is driving the population slow-down in the third world?

15. After literacy, the next largest indicator of family size is religious practice. The more frequently Muslims attend mosque, the more likely they are to have a big family. A third of the 88% literate Turks never attend mosque, as is true of the 82% literate Iranians; in both countries fertility is below replacement. But only a fifth of Egyptians never visit a mosque, and fertility is up to about three.

a. In nations such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Egypt, worship is high, literacy low, fertility rates high, poverty high, unemployment high, social instability high.

b. In nations such as Iran, Turkey, Tunisia, Algeria, there is a high degree of literacy, but face a more devastating degree of social failure in the form of a dearth of children.

To Review:
16. Factors associated with population decline include urbanization, education and literacy, modernization.

a. Children had an economic value in a traditional, agricultural society. Pension systems turned children into a cost rather providers for the elderly.

b. Female literacy is a powerful predictor of population decline. Literate and affluent women have one or two children, not six or eight. The determination between one, or two, is often religious faith: the industrial world’s lowest fertility rates are found among the Eastern European nations where atheism was the official ideology for generations. The highest rates are associated with nations such as the United States and Israel, with relatively high religious populations.

Where faith goes, fertility vanishes. This is not to say that all faiths are equal in this regard: the fastest decline is taking place in Muslim countries.

Pointing out that Muslim countries have a rapidly declining rate of fertility is hardly Anti-Muslim.

Indeed, in the context of arguing AGAINST the idea that overpopulation is a problem, suggesting that Islam leads to higher fertility rates is more likely to be seen as a good, not a negative.

Population decline is ubiquitous, almost universal.

17. "Russia is celebrating its eighth annual ‘day of conception’ as couples in the eastern region of Ulyanovsk are being advised to stay at home to procreate.

... prizes have been awarded to couples who give birth in exactly nine months from the unofficial public holiday. In 2012 the winning pair were presented with a jeep, while in 2011 the award was a jeep.

The regional celebration is part of a gesture to increase Russia’s struggling birth rate.

In 2006, during his televised State of the Nation address, President Vladimir Putin said the most urgent crisis facing Russia was its demographic crisis. At the time, the country’s population was declining by at least 700,000 people a year. You are so stupid that I almost feel guilty pointing it out so easily.
Almost.

"Turkey's President Slams Birth Control as 'Treason'
ISTANBUL: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described efforts to promote birth control as "treason", saying contraception risked causing a whole generation to "dry up", reports said today.

Erdogan made the comments on Sunday, directly addressing the bride and groom at the Istanbul wedding ceremony of the son of businessman Mustafa Kefeli, who is one of his close allies.

He told the newly-weds that using birth control was a betrayal of Turkey's ambition to make itself a flourishing nation with an expanding young population.

"One or two (children) is not enough. To make our nation stronger, we need a more dynamic and younger population. We need this to take Turkey above the level of modern civilisations," Erdogan said.

"In this country, they (opponents) have been engaged in the treason of birth control for years and sought to dry up our generation," Erdogan said.

Just had to get in your anti muslim bullshit, hey? Whats your source?

What?

What in that post did you consider anti-Muslim?

Pointing out that Muslim countries have a rapidly declining rate of fertility is hardly Anti-Muslim.

Indeed, in the context of arguing AGAINST the idea that overpopulation is a problem, suggesting that Islam leads to higher fertility rates is more likely to be seen as a good, not a negative.

I haven't looked it up myself, but I have been hearing of the decline.

A decline in fertility rate is not the same as a declining population.

The Muslim world is coming from a recent place of relatively high birth rates, and those rates are supposedly dropping.

Still positive mind you, but dropping.

A slower rate of increase.

If YOU believe the world is overpopulated, this should be huge and good news for you that you will want to follow up immediately.

Take a couple of hours. We can continue our discussions tomorrow.

Oh, and you should probably thank PC for the good news.

    1. Women 40 to 49 without formal education average five children, while for those who have completed high school or higher, is two. http://www.demogr.mpg.de/Papers/workshops/050509_paper08.pdf
    2. Between 1995-1998, Turkish fertility was 2.29 children per woman; but Kurdish fertility was 4.27. Since Kurds comprise 18% of the Turkish population (based on mother tongue), the Turkish fertility rate excluding Kurds, was only 1.5, which is as low as Europe’s! 1. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inaugurated a new policy on Tuesday to encourage population growth, dismissing Iran’s decades of family planning as ungodly and a Western import….Throughout the 1990s, Iran tried to reduce population growth by encouraging men and women to use free or inexpensive contraceptives, as well as vasectomies. The government brought down the country’s population growth rate from its 1986 height of 3.9 percent to just 1.6 percent in 2006. Ahmadinejad caused public outcry, however, when shortly after he was elected in 2005 he said two children per family were not enough and urged Iranians to have more.
