YOU & I ARE MEMBERS,
DON'T DELETE, JUST READ AND PASS IT ON!!!!! !...

Some people like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs. Some of us are "Baby Boomers" getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were. The vast majority of us have worked hard for what we have, raised and provided for our children, worshiped our God, valued true friends and grown old together. Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is probably true. But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration.

In school, along with learning to read, write and speak well, we studied English, history, math, and science which enabled us to lead America into the technological age. We didn't advance a grade just because of our race, special help or non-caring teachers, we studied hard and learned before we were allowed to pass to a higher grade. A lot of us had first hand experience with the days of telephone party-lines, 23 cent gasoline, wood burning stoves, floor furnaces, window fans, coal heat and the milk man. For those of you who don't know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators. A few even remember when cars were started with a crank. Have you ever seen a floor dimmer for your headlights? Yes, we lived those days.

We are probably considered old fashioned and outdated by many. But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off. We won World War II, fought in Korea, fought in Viet Nam and won the cold war. We can quote The Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so. We wore the uniform of our country with lots of pride and some lost many friends on the battlefield. We didn't fight for the Socialist States of America; we fought for the "Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave".... our country. We wore different uniforms but carried the same flag. We know the words to the Star Spangled Banner, America , and America the Beautiful by heart, and you may even see some emotional tears running down our cheeks as we sing. We have lived what many of you have only read in history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America.

Yes, we are older and slower these days but rest assured, we have at least one good fight left in us. We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for it, and now we are going to save it again. It is our country and nobody is going to take it away from us or degrade it. We took oaths to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep. There are those who want to destroy and change this land we love but, like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent and allow them to do it without a big time bloody fight.

It was mostly the young people of this nation who elected Obama and the Democratic Congress. You fell for their "Hope and Change" crap which in reality was nothing but "Hype and Lies."

You have now tasted socialism and seen evil face to face, and many of you have found you don't like it after all. You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or "climbing the social ladder" to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting. Many of those who fell for the "Great Lie" in 2008 are now having buyer's remorse. With all the education we gave you, you still didn't have sense enough to see through the lies and instead you drank the 'Kool-Aid.' Now you're paying the price and complaining about it. Less jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, more corruption and less freedom. Your over-sensitive political correctness concerns coupled with a large "give me" attitude have cost more than you can pay.

This is what you voted for and this is what you got. We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded it for a paycheck and a basic superficial lifestyle.

Well, don't worry youngsters, the Grey-Haired Brigade is here, and in 2014 and 2016 we are going to take back our nation. We may drive a little slower than you would like but we get where we're going, and in 2014 and 2016 we're going to the polls by the millions. If you younger folks want to help us, we welcome you to vote also, but only if you use your head this time.

This land does not belong to the Marxist puppet in the White House nor to the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. It belongs to "We the People" and "We the People" plan to reclaim our land and our constitutional rights of freedom. We hope this time you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren. So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for the old geezers of the "Grey-Haired Brigade" that gave it to you.

Footnote:
This is dead on. I am another Gray-Haired Geezer signing on. I will circulate this to other Gray-Haired Geezers all over this once great county.

Can you feel the ground shaking? It's not an earthquake, it is a STAMPEDE.

Says it all right there....we know the purpose of your post

The president is a corporatist left of center mainstream politician.

He is not socialist, Marxist, Kenyan, or Islamist.

He is black.

He was born in the USA. Neither McCain nor Cruz were born in the USA.

The GOP is going to take the big hit for 10% of the House, the TeaPs, pushing its party over the brink.

Those of my age who support the TeaP have reached dementia.

No sweetie, the political divide on this nation is NOT based on age.

My father, a WWII combat wounded veteran, aged 91 year old is voting D will continue to vote D and nothing ever could make him hate this nation the way the GOP wants us to hate it.

So spare us still another feeble GOP attempt at dividing to conquer the American people, okay, tool?

The GOP loves this Nation and they are trying to get Government spending under control.
The Dem's have refused to cut back on Government. 1.2 Trillion in cuts for 10 years, when we need at least 4 Trillion cut in 10 years.
They aren't dealing with reality and are in denial.

you do realize that spending and debt grew up the gop too?

Well, this old bald and gray geezer is calling you lazy assed geezers on this one. 70 in November, still working from 40 to 45 hrs a week as a millwright in a steel mill. And taking two classes a week at the univesity. And the young people I meet there are almost all admirable people. My dd214 says Honorable, and was saying the Pledge before Under God was added. And, yes, I voted for President Obama twice. He represented my interests far more than did the anti-science, anti-middle class GOP.

You neanderthals will lose in 2014, and again in 2016, as you well should. You cannot drag this nation back to 1900. Those of us that wish to see this nation remain the leader in science and technology no longer have any patience with people like the person that wrote that piece of drivel.

Tea Party lawmakers, blamed by some Republicans (the old guard) for alienating voters, have cemented their influence as most were re-elected to Congress.

The Tea Party movement suffered some losses to Democrats in U.S. Senate races in Indiana and Missouri, while a half-dozen freshman Republicans who rode the Tea Party wave in 2010 were defeated in the Nov. 6 election.

A loss of just 6 while the majority have kept their seats.

We shall see what happens in 2014.

the tea partying was not very welcoming to me.....i took pictures seems they objected to that....i was at the meeting a total of 7 minutes

That still remains to be seen.

We are ranked at 29th in the world in Science

Was that before or after Bush declared that religion trumped science where stem cell research is concerned? Or that 98% of the scientists were wrong and RW pundits were right about Climate Change?

We are 17 Trillion in the hole and the Dem's refuse to make the necessary cuts needed.

Where was this outrage during 2000-2008 when Cheney famously remarked, "Reagan proved defits don't matter"?

We are 9th in the world in Education.

And yet the GOP insists that education dollars need to be cut.

Yeah just keep voting for the Dems who want to spend and tax us into bankruptcy and we will not be a leader in anything any more.

Better to "tax and spend" rather than the GOP who wants to "borrow and spend".

Dems believe in the same ideology as Venezuela and they are ranked last in the world on Economic strength.

And the GOP loves a "Big Gubmint" that wants to control our private lives and decisions. They want to tell women what to do with their bodies, who can and cannot get married and prevent people from ending their lives with dignity.

Thank your father for his service, and pass on to him the concept that being wrong need not be a life long obligation.

My father voted democrat until the day he died. He would not beleive they had changed from the party he knew and followed them blindly It is why he went to his grave without ever hearing another word from Me after I told him that blind follower-ship is not how I was raised.

Being pig-headed is NOT being correct.

I oppose the Democrats because I think they are wrong and their ideology is wrong for this country. I have never asked them to hate this country (though a majority of them do, and I can show you a vivid example of it right here in this thread) nor do I think that the GOP is hateful or hate this country.

It is your kind of blindness that has lead us to today's little carnival.

No, the TeaPs are overwhelmingly white, reactionary, elderly, and don't care about the American people.
