Incumbent presidents have an advantage over unknowns with crazy policies to push. Pollsters were wrong in 2016 and they will be wrong in 2020. There is a stealth 3% vote for Trump that eludes pollsters. About 3% of union folks and minorities say they will vote democrat, but actually vote for Trump.

IMHO 2018 was a fluke, or more specifically "normal" in that the party in-power lost the expected number of seats, which they will gain back in 2020, at least according to historic norms. Besides in 2018 the Mueller Investigation was ongoing with the MSM pushing Trump's guilt, and scaring voters, which turned out to be a nothingburger. We'll see how many of the 31 Trump districts won in 2016 keep the democrat congressmen from 2018.
