Perry Blew it, Romney leads, new gallop poll.

So what did Mitt Romney and John Huntsman do as governors in conjunction with their Mormon beliefs that was so terrible? I mean, if we should be worried, surely there must be something both men did as governor that should concern us, right?

NOpe. They're Mormons. Shoot on sight for suspicion.

Now if they renounced Mormonism tomorrow, then I might actually give then a second look.

And who made you God and gave you permission to sit in judgement on another's religion? Pretty self-righteous and a very bigoted point of view and one that I doubt God would up-hold.

BTW- people like you said the same thing about John Kennedy because he was Catholic.

Still too early. Though, it's clear the honeymoon with Perry is over. Which is good, I don't want a nominee when everyone is blindly supporting them without weighing their strengths and weaknesses.

I don't know if Romney will hold the lead though. Wouldn't expect it. Im sure it will change quite a bit.

Most of these liberals had no problem with religion--when Barack Obama sat in a racist--separatist--America hating church for 20 years--but NOW they've found religion since Mitt Romney is running--

Why do we care if Romney is a Mormon?

Why would I care that a screwed up insane cult started by a child-molesting con man that once made war on the United States and attempted to start a theocracy within her borders might actually control the country?

Oh, wait, I think I just answered my own question.

The difference between Joseph Smith and David Koresh?

Original and Extra Crispy.

If Obama wins again, there's only so much damage he can do.

If the Mormons get into power, I don't even want to consider it.

Are you kidding me?? " If Obama wins again there is only so much damage he can do? Are you ever asleep at the wheel, are you taking drugs??? Have you seen the destruction that he has reaked on this country already, you want 4 more years of that??? If he wins a second term, Obama care is implemented, once it's implemented and we have socialized medicine it will never be un-done, it will DESTROY this country. It will BANKRUPT us for sure, and you will find your self living in the ASH HEAP of the USA. Good grief, you should be ashamed of yourself and to call yourself a Christian, who is bigoted, and SITTING IN JUDGEMENT on another because of their religion is NON- Christian behavior and one the God Abhors. Remember- " thou shall not sit in judgement?" apparently you missed that lesson.

No kidding, but what a bunch of bigots. Idiot bigots that is. They need to remember that bigots were stating that John Kennedy could not win because he was a Catholic.:lol: I don't think they know how stupid they are.

Makes me wonder what they would say if a Jew ever ran for President- good grief.

The mormons I have known and worked for are the most honest people I have ever met. In fact, the CIA and the FBI go to their colleges in order to recruit, as these people are raised to have the highest degree of integrity and honor.

He wasn't a shit candidate in 2008. He could have beaten Obama. But he was submarined by the bigots who joined forces with McCain when they saw Huckabee couldn't win.

Still Romney could have duked it out with McCain but he bowed out gracefully to avoid a lot of potentially hurtful division.

Romney is probably our only chance to regain a sound economic footing and I just hope that the people who have been pushing forward people like Angle, O'Donnell and Bachmann will decide against dragging America down with them in some crazy mass suicide act.

Actually, calling Romney a "shit" candidate is an insult to a useful fertilizer.

The very fact he lost to McCain (HATED by many Republicans for backstabbing Bush, supporting illegal immigration, campaign finance reform) etc proves it.

The guy has been in four elections. He's won exactly one against a no-name candidate after outspending her 10-1. And even then, he only got 49% of the vote.

In 1994, he lost to Ted Kennedy by 17 points in a year when they were voting out Democrats for the fun of it.

In 2002, he won against a no-name candidate (I refuse to Wiki this woman's name again, she was so forgettable) in the wake of 9/11 when they were giving the GOP the benefit of the doubt and he spent 7 million of his own money. And he STILL only got 49% of the vote.

in 2006, he was trailing Devall Patrick by double digits and decided not to run. I mean, he doesn't want to end up like George Allen.

IN 2008, he lost to first Huckabee running on a shoestring budget, and then McCain.

I have to emphasize this again. He ONLY won 3 primaries in 2008. Michigan, where no one else was playing because Michigan had broken the rules with an early primary. Massachusetts, where he was governor, and Utah, which is full of his fellow LDS cultists. That was it. And he spent 43 million of his own money to do it!

and honestly, if you think the only way to beat a democratic liberal is to run a Republican liberal, what's the point? Seriously.

Yes and how many elections did Ronald Reagan lose before he won??? Can't win them all and I think that Mitt was a little too conservative for the very liberal state of MA.

Herman Cain Upsets Gov. Rick Perry To Win Florida GOP Straw Poll | Fox News

Screw Perry, Screw Romney, the establishment media can pick and choose who they want to be the next puppet. I will pick a non-career politician that knows how to create jobs and believes in our constitution any day of the week. Herman Cain is who I am voting for in the Primary " I know, I'm racist", screw everyone else who is running.

Um... Romney is a non-career politician who knows how to create jobs and believes in our Constitution. The man made his living helping people create businesses, eliminating waste and corruption, and solving problems for decades before he ran for Governor of Mass.

The man has his weaknesses. But being a career politician and being ignorant of businesses is not one of them.

Straw polls mean absolutely nada, nothing, they are all smoke and mirrors and although I like Herman Cain he will never win the nomination because he has NO political experience.

Mitt was only a governor for 4 years, so how you can call him a career politician is beyond my comprehension. He has spent most of his life in the private sector and he has created THOUSANDS of jobs.

Reagan, probably one of the best President's ever, lost some elections too, but went on to become one of the greatest.

corporate america has won. they own the media. they own our government. they have americans is such a nannied state in so mnay ways (usually linked to corporate america) that citizens of this country are helpless with corporate america's nannyism. corporate america feeds us, keeps us warm, builds us shelter, builds our roads, keeps us entertained. the original settlers would be shocked how lazy oil addicted americans whine and complain and continue to elect folks that keep allowing more and more access to corporate america. :(

That's why you vote in representatives that will not have anything to do with corporate America and support only the constitution, the tea party. If you are tired of corporatism "Most liberals are" then you should not have any issues voting tea party, unless you are agenda driven. It's a simple fact that the tea party is anti establishment and pro liberty, unless you hate individual liberty vote along tea party lines.

Thanks for backing me up on this, it appears we have people on this thread that have no idea what they are talking about. You obviously do.
Creating jobs is Romney's strong suit, as he has done it, knows how to do it and has written a detailed jobs plan that took me four hours just to scan. There is nothing career politician about him, unless you think 4 years as governor in a 60 year life span is somehow a career.:cuckoo::cuckoo:

Romney is conservative in the area that I care most about- the ECONOMY. Socially conservative issues are simply not going to play much of a role in this cycle. Romney looks very strong. I liked him last cycle and I like him now.

It's all about the economy, stupid.

62% is very strong, that's a landslide, even some dems are swinging his way like they did when they supported Reagan. Conservative dems, that is, not the left-wing nut cases on this board. Romney appeals to the fiscal conservative independents, they CONTROL elections. The democrats fear Romney first, as they know full well that the independent vote is swinging hard towards him.

As far as someone running a 3rd party, I can tell you with some certainty that Palin would come out and throw water on that. She loves her country first and foremost and would come out and strongly oppose that, after that, a 3rd party would not have much support as she carries some strong weight in that arena.

In 2008 Romney overwhelmingly carried my state in the straw poll and he is shaping up to do that again. We could not beleive that McCain won the nomination, it blew our minds, we are still scratching our heads about that one.

Romney would have lost your state also, it didn't matter, 2008 was the year of voter fraud/media bias as far as politics goes. All that hope and change amounted to a bunch of horse shit or cronie capitalism and socialism. I hope those that voted for the kenyan in chief are happy with the results, I feel most are, because they are the "Sit on my ass and do nothing all day" class.

Economic grown up Romney versus economic screw up Obama.

This is Romney's race. He's the only one who will be able to defeat himself. I hope he doesn't. We can't afford any more Obama.

Romney wont make it that far. It's going to be either Perry or Cain. Mass Healthcare will kill romney at the national level, people just dont know it yet, they will after the primary though.

Huckabee was Romney's worst nightmare. If you think about it; Romney and McCain have a lot in common. Huckster was like an IED that would blow one way or the other. He hit Romney.

You are correct, Mccain and romney where alot alike, neither one of them had a chance in hell.

Anti-Mormon bias won over fiscal responsibility in the 2008 primaries.

Thank goodness Huck didn't get in the race this time around. I might have voted for Obama over Huckabee. I would have been very torn.

I disagree, racism won over most of it, it was the whole liberal guilt "If you dont vote for the black guy, you're racist" bit that people bought in to. Obama brought nothing to the table, never had before, he was a one term senator and community organizer before that, but yet he ran away with most of the vote, the only thing that got him elected was that he wasn't G.W. Bush and he was black, nothing more. Let's not be politically correct about it, it's the simple truth of the matter.
