In order for us to use only our fuel, that would mean we'd have to leave the market which would be a stupid thing. The market was created to stabilize prices. You may love the prices sometimes and hate them other time, but it's the only honest way to control the prices. If not for the market, we'd have been paying $10.00 a gallon for the last 20 years or so because then the oil companies create the prices they want.
So we rely on imported oil.
