Prices at The Restaurants

true there were other dark chapters in our history…the Carter years, the Great Depression….so it’s good to stay focused and realize this demafasict war on the working class will end and will beat back the tyrants.

we just have to make sure not to put your cult in power again

Worse yet....Too prone to being hacked.

I've never had a problem. And I haven't used cash since 2005.

Plus, my debit card comes with security features......
I get a text notification on any transaction over $100.00, and have to put in a code for it to go through.
I get notified if anything "out of the oridinary" happens on my account or my card number.

I DO change my card every few years too.

We're talking restaurant prices, not food quality.
DUH!!

The JITB I go to is a franchise and owned by this mexican guy that knows how to cook.
He makes some fucking awesome food, and also makes homemade salsa to go with it.

I rarely eat out anymore though, since the prices have gone thru the roof...........and that includes sit down/wait staff restaurants.

Actually, most of the really awesome places never opened back up after COVID closedowns. So theres that as well. Which is a shame.
you’re making great points in the thread I was talking with a working class poker dealer at the Westgate Sportsbook/casino in Las Vegas. His monthly apartment rent went up $500. It’s unheard of. He and others in Vegas are feeling it because so many people have left California because of their skyrocketing prices. That and other issues that we could have avoided have led to high inflation. At the Excalibar hotel the price of a burger at a fast food place is $20.

At some of the casinos on Fremont Street they’re charging people five dollars for a cup of water. Not a bottled water but a cup of filtered water. It used to always of course be free.

Of course I keep hearing people talking about a 8 or 10% increase in inflation. This is not accurate … what I often see In grocery stores is they size down on their portions and even frozen food companies are doing this. I see at the local grocery store they size down on the food size and raise the price. So that means that inflation is actually quite a bit higher… and I have seen a 100% increase in fresh burgers at my local grocery mart. The 4 pack of frozen chicken pot pies went from $8.00 to $13.50.

And to not even begun to discuss the prices of pizza and chicken wings. If a family of four wants to order out it’s astronomical.

America‘s been through a lot. We got through the Great Depression so if we have the right leader ship and a strong and healthy Citizenry we can get through this thing.

I don't go out to eat as often anymore as expenses are climbing too high to justify it. Why pay 25 bucks or more for myself on something that won't have meant a thing in 5 to 8 hours when I'm hungry again?

Now when I go out to eat it is less often and I don't go to chain places because if I am going to pay so much to eat it damn well better be worth it. So now when I go out it's to a Indian place run by actual indians, a Korean place run by real Koreans, and so on. I want something that is made very well and is delicious. I hate chain places now because they all have the same thing, it's just reheated stuff with no actual chefs they are just cooks, it costs a fortune and I am rarely leaving saying "wow I really enjoyed that".

I agree with what you’re saying here. Great point. For example I paid $25 for 30 frozen chicken wings from A local deli. I put them in my air fryer season them and sauce them and they taste just as good maybe slightly not as good as the ones from the pizza place. 30 wings at a local pizza place is going to cost me around $40.

I try and eat healthy. If I do have sugar I’ll have a slice of cake as supposed to say getting a 30 pack of Oreos or whatever. I haven’t had Oreos or chips ahoy in a long time. When I go shopping I see some folks have their cart filled with process cookies and snacks that adds up to a ton of money.

They used to say that vegetables cost more money then snacks cookies and sugary foods. But it seems like the Oreos and chips ahoy Have gone up a ton as well.

Protein shakes and protein bars can be a good substitute for processed sugar usually. Some of them do taste good but here’s a thing they have gone up quite considerably in price. The six pack of pure protein bars used to be as low as five dollars now I see it as high as nine or $10. And that’s one of the good ones because frankly some of those protein bars have over 20 g of sugar like the Gatorade protein bar has 30 g of sugar so that’s not really the best protein bar option.

Think on it a bit.
It’s all good brother I’m thinking on which NFL teams to bet today . I have already provided my argument on the state of affairs in this thread… But what is your argument about The economy how do you think things are going? Are you happy with how things are going?

Absolutely not but I have been noting that this was coming for years. See the trajectory noted in my link from 2017?

Every once in awhile I go buy a dozen donuts to share with the family.
Months ago a dozen donuts cost $8.99
Bought some the other day and now they are $14.99
Thanks bozo Biden....

I have noticed more and more local businesses that either offer a discount if you pay with cash/check or a fee added if you pay with a card. Both are the same thing, each business just words it differently.

I think this is a great way for them to go so we can make our own decisions. It is not a big deal when eating out, but for expenses like a moving company or having plantation shutters custom made for our new house the difference was signification and we wrote a check for both vice using the care.
For now we have that option. No doubt the Govt will move to make it difficult to pay for things in ways that they don't have instant access to.
Good news for you is if the Govt gets it way CC companies will not be allowed to charge compaiens a fee any longer.
That may be one of those "be careful what you wish for," deals like when they banned ATM fees in California.

The Democrat elites can be blissfully unaware of how much their illegal alien maids pay when they make donut runs for them while they masturbate during zoom meetings. If they do notice it on their credit card statements, they will likely blame the maid and fire her.

But average Americans are going to be noticing this kind of thing every day, and likely several times a day. A lot of the inflation is the COVID spending spree chickens coming hom to roost. But Biden will be blamed for it all, because he keeps pretending it isn't happening, or that it somehow is not an issue, when people who actually have to watch their budgets know damn well it is.
