Protests, Then and Now - Note the Difference

They definitely have a choice, they've been had choices, and they've consistently made the wrong ones.

Contrary to popular belief, all this didn't begin on October 7th, it began way before.
Nope, not with HAMAS.

Maybe with a unity government, or with Fatah, but not with an entity that doesn't even recognize international law, history, or reality. They are terrorists. duh.

Israel never had a choice in that matter. Stahp playing dumb.

The position toward Occupation and political solutions

"18. The following are considered null and void: the Balfour Declaration, the British Mandate Document, the UN Palestine Partition Resolution, and whatever resolutions and measures that derive from them or are similar to them. The establishment of “Israel” is entirely illegal and contravenes the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and goes against their will and the will of the Ummah; it is also in violation of human rights that are guaranteed by international conventions, foremost among them is the right to self-determination.

19. There shall be no recognition of the legitimacy of the Zionist entity. Whatever has befallen the land of Palestine in terms of occupation, settlement building, judaisation or changes to its features or falsification of facts is illegitimate. Rights never lapse.

20. Hamas believes that no part of the land of Palestine shall be compromised or conceded, irrespective of the causes, the circumstances and the pressures and no matter how long the occupation lasts. Hamas rejects any alternative to the full and complete liberation of Palestine, from the river to the sea. However, without compromising its rejection of the Zionist entity and without relinquishing any Palestinian rights, Hamas considers the establishment of a fully sovereign and independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital along the lines of the 4th of June 1967, with the return of the refugees and the displaced to their homes from which they were expelled, to be a formula of national consensus.

There shall be no recognition of the legitimacy of the Zionist entity
21. Hamas affirms that the Oslo Accords and their addenda contravene the governing rules of international law in that they generate commitments that violate the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. Therefore, the Movement rejects these agreements and all that flows from them, such as the obligations that are detrimental to the interests of our people, especially security coordination (collaboration).

22. Hamas rejects all the agreements, initiatives and settlement projects that are aimed at undermining the Palestinian cause and the rights of our Palestinian people. In this regard, any stance, initiative or political programme must not in any way violate these rights and should not contravene them or contradict them.

23. Hamas stresses that transgression against the Palestinian people, usurping their land and banishing them from their homeland cannot be called peace. Any settlements reached on this basis will not lead to peace. Resistance and jihad for the liberation of Palestine will remain a legitimate right, a duty and an honour for all the sons and daughters of our people and our Ummah. . . "

Mere koinkydink you NAZIS all bought the same tents.

is there a sale on tents at amazon?

". . . For the record, a quick Google search collapses the biggest tentpole (sorry) that the mayor and Daughtry's outside agitator theory rests on. Where did students and faculty members get all these tents that look the same? At the store, duh.

Those green and blue tents being thrown away by NYPD officers on NYU's campus, for example, are sold for $15 at the retailer Five Below, and the green and gray Camel Crown tents that can be seen in videos of the encampment on Columbia's campus are available online from Walmart and Amazon for around $28 to $35. My God…looks like what we've got on our hands is a classic case of college students buying something cheap and disposable. . . . "

Note that today young people are cowards hiding behind masks. They don’t want their name linked to what they stand for. Total cowards.
Don't leave these out.

I don't support illegal encampments. I don't support folks threatening others, or preventing others doing their business, going to class, etc. I don't support folks calling for violence... Naturally, if exercising one's freedom and liberty, treads upon the freedom and liberty of others? Well, that is not appropriate. . . but? Otherwise?

IDGAF.

Everyone should have their say.

I am an American. I support folk's rights to gather and call for redress of the government, no matter what their politics. If they are pro-Zionist? Fine. If they are Pro-facist/Nazi, w/e. If they are Klan marchers with tiki torch burning racists, shouting, "blood & soil?" So be it.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.[4]"

I am sorry you have decided to turn into an Anti-American, authoritarian piece of garbage, just because you don't like someone's politics or point of view.

For all I care? They can burn old glory, and scream "Death to America."

For I know? This is the only nation in the world that would tolerate that kind of crap, and it is. . . the reason, we are the best nation in the world, because of it. This is the last bastion of liberty and freedom because of it.
You do know, that your rights end, when they infringe upon the rights of others? You do know that?

You're conveniently forgetting a few things OP.

Remember how the government sniped a few protesters at the college back during your era?

And also how the reason for the masks today is due to the threat of doxxing by the Establishment that has already been recently carried out.

Just a couple of things to consider.

Kind of like the klan and their hoods and robes?

Agreed.

With facial recognition technology, doxing, and AI, it is, indeed a different world.

We don't live in a nation ruled by laws anymore, a democratic republic, where your rights are guaranteed by the rule of law, we live in an authoritarian technocratic corporatacracy, where our lives are ruled by AI cloud computing, and unofficial social credit systems and a digital image and posting history that never dies, and becomes part of your permanent record.

You are no longer allowed to participate in civil society, and have a sovereign political opinion one way or the other, which our founders intended, with out it being used against you by global investment monopolies, connected to faceless, nameless ruling global oligarchs.

And you? Are an idiot and a fool if you don't understand what this is really about. . .

This year? Americans are protesting an issue you just happen to disagree with. The next? They might be shutting down the banking accounts of Truckers, or throwing election protesters in prison, just for being on the ground of the Capitol, because they were unaware some subversive took down a piece of tape roping off a no crossing line where they weren't supposed to be.

You partisanship is making you lose your vision of what rights Americans are supposed to have, so corporate overlords can rob you of your god given sovereignty.

This is bigger than just one issue.

They're not 'disagreeing', they're taking over and vandalizing private property and calling for the death of Israel and the US, and physically and verbally harassing the local Jewish population. Maybe if they stood for something noble and just, they wouldn't have to be worried about being doxed? And why are they worried about that to begin with? Their cause doesn't mean enough to them to really stand up for it and take whatever consequences that may come with it? If that's the case, it doesn't really mean that much to them, they're just there virtue signaling for their own egos.

You don't have the 'right' to take over private property, keep fellow students from entering the property, vandalizing that property, etc... They're rioting and intimidating, that's not protesting.

What's happening is exactly what you wrote in your first paragraph, yet the rest of your post seems to support it.

Guess what? If we get enough of the 'death to America' crowd, you won't have to worry about those first amendment rights being violated because they will no longer exist. The rights given in this country are the very same tools used to destroy it because people like you are not willing to draw a line, even when it means the complete destruction of those rights. What is happening on university campuses is a campaign to do exactly that, they are doing far more than 'protesting'.
