...and one of the birds in the area showed their appreciation by releasing droppings on my shoulder.

Bird must be local, a typical Canadian.
 
We had a lone Blue Heron here on the creek. One day as my dad was walking across our bridge, it flew over head and let loose. The pile landed right behind my dad. He said if it would have hit him, it would have killed him. lol.
 
Goose poop is much bigger than deer poop. Figure it out.
Not the geese where I live, nowhere near the size of deer dropping. But the geese do leave, excuse the pun, a shitload of shit in areas they frequent.

A few years ago our club course became a prime landing zone for flocks of them on our water holes and there was goose crap everywhere and nothing they tried to get them out of there worked until they hired Zack and his two dogs. Problem solved.
