So what you're saying is that you support universal school choice as natural and constitutional law require? Surely you're not saying that the state schools and teachers own our children and may impose whatever ideology they please in books because parents have no say. In my observations from the outside, Democratic Party representatives are not much better. Hardly any of them even mention firearms control at election time and effectively none of them make significant firearms control a policy plank in their election campaigns.
A suggested tweak or two of the rules from the odd candidate is the most that can be expected, while explicit support of the 2nd Amendment can be taken as a given.

The reason that sounds good for banning guns: Kids get killed. Ban guns so shooters can't buy them. This is the meme the leftwing media has been instructed to push. Pure fallacy, of course. Criminals will ALWAYS be able to get guns., but gullible sheep buy this meme and peddle it.

The real reason for banning guns: The worldwide Marxists have always had their eye on the ultimate prize, the United States. If they could seize control, the very few would steal and share trillions. But the only way they can do it is if the citizenry can't defend itself. In 2012, guns were officially banned in Venezuela. The worldwide leftist media celebrated. Within five years, Venezuela was in Communist hands. The people had nothing. The protested, but were silenced. They couldn't defend themselves. That's what the Marxists want here, and THAT is the true reason they want gun control; to ultimately ban all firearms, to make takeover a piece of cake.
