Republicans, don’t you want

Calm down Stuart

Pull a knife on a cop.

Read the bill

Banning no-knock warrants, simple enough. Banning chokeholds, simple enough to understand right?

Establishing new procedures for investigating misconduct incidents and allowing an officer's license to be revoked if it is determined they used excessive force.

Sound pretty self explanatory.

When they say new procedures for investigating misconduct maybe they mean body cams, a 3rd party group that investigates rather than cops investigating cops, and have cops show up with a different attitude. Teach them de escilation tactics they clearly don't know now.

So do you guys trust the cops nor not?
Like I said, spew and run. And only fools trust the police.

Clean air?

Worst air quality in the nation is in blue states.

Gun shows are not able to sell to anyone without a background check...you are either ignorant about that or lying about not knowing it. Any actual, licensed gun seller, someone who sells guns for a living or makes profit from selling guns, has to do a federally mandated background check.

You do not have to do a background check if you are selling private property. The minute you sell too many guns you become a firearm dealer and fall under the requirement to do background checks.

So this is a lie pushed by anti-gun extremists.

You can tell they don't care about background checks to stop criminals because there is a real easy solution....a free phone app that anyone can use for background checks......that accesses criminal history, outstanding warrants and restraining orders.......free, quick and easy, this app would allow anyone to do a quick background check when they sell their privately owned guns......

Anti-gun extremists don't want anything to do with that concept......they want universal background checks just so they can then demand gun registration...which is their real goal.
That is NOT true. Only federally licensed sellers are required to do background checks in many states.

Private sellers are exempted

Clean air?
What kind of question is that? Everybody wants that. The question should be, how much are you willing to sacrifice to have air quality improve from already impressively clean to a tiny bit cleaner?
Gun laws that keep guns away from nuts?
That's also a dumb question, because you can't do that without also keeping them away from people who are clearly NOT nuts. Write laws that correctly identify the mentally ill and get them the treatment they need and we can talk.
To legalize pot?
That depends. Sure, we can legalize it if you have a doctor's prescription, which is very easy to get where I live.
Alternative energy?
When it can significantly offload a lot of the work fossil fuels have to do. IOW, constant, round the clock availability and reliability.
To strengthen social security and Medicare?
That depends. Are there better solutions to the problems those are trying to solve? We should not blindly "strengthen", aka, spend more on, things without constantly looking for better solutions.
Labor to have a seat at the table?
It already does.
Women to have the right to choose?
They already do.
Police reform?
Taking money out of police force budgets is not reform and only results in fewer police officers ready to help when needed. Call for help after you have no gun and hope you don't die for 20 minutes while they try to get around to you.
Separation of Church and state?
We already have it. It is not legal for the federal government to form an official state church.

My question would be: why would you not want a warrant to be initiated with the element of surprise - especially with violent criminals? Do you support an advance notice for violent criminals, which provides adequate time for them to prepare for a defense and / or to escape?

Law enforcement officers are already held to standards, and have been convicted in cases where excessive force was used. What are the unintended consequences with law enforcement if they are afraid or in fear of engaging a criminal -- they don't want to be the next George Floyd incident? I know the answer .. do you?
Too many accidents. Too many good people get killed. It's the same reason we don't allow cops to shoot at people who are in a car chase.

Hell, the other day the cop showed up and shot the 11 year old boy who walked out when the cop told him to.

Or the one where the cop was creeping around the back yard. Looks in and sees a black woman (the fucking home owner) holding a gun so he blasts her.

Blue state hijinks. You LOVE it.

You republicans are never cautious or careful about these things. You lean on the side of letting corporations do things that lead to oil spills and train derailments

For more than forty-five years the Clean Air Act has cut pollution as the U.S. economy has grown.

  • Experience with the Clean Air Act since 1970 has shown that protecting public health and building the economy can go hand in hand.

Green tech can result in an enormous amount of employment, a cleaner environment, and lower energy costs.

But Republicans (and some Dems) are totally against it because they are in the pocket of the fossil fuel industry

Right, we have very clean air. How much more do you want us to sacrifice to get marginally cleaner air?

That is what i posted.

Private sellers can sell personal property anywhere.....:
