There is one thing about the Affordable Care Act that is set in stone. Neither Democrats nor Republicans will surrender their priestly authority to tell Americans how to behave. There is no uncluttered object lesson in authoritarianism more than government dictating individual behavior that forces Americans to buy health insurance; i.e., work for strangers at the expense of your own loved ones:

ThinkProgress reported that Trump kept only two of his 36 first-day promises.

Regarding the Obamacare pledge, ThinkProgress noted: “Trump’s first executive order did address Obamacare, but it had nothing to do with repealing or replacing the legislation. It allows federal agencies to ignore or put off parts of the law that ‘impose a fiscal burden on any State or a cost, fee, tax, penalty, or regulatory burden on individuals, families, healthcare providers, health insurers, patients, recipients of healthcare services, purchasers of health insurance, or makers of medical devices, products, or medications.’ If Trump asked Congress to put a bill on his desk on day one, he did not do so publicly.”

“What President Trump is doing is, he wants to get rid of that Obamacare penalty almost immediately, because that is something that is really strangling a lot of Americans, to have to pay a penalty for not buying government-run health insurance,” Conway said on ABC News’ “This Week,” according Bloomberg News.

When Conway was asked by host George Stephanopoulos if Trump would “stop enforcing that mandate,” she responded: “He may.”

Drudge erupts on Trump, Republicans – White House responds

Note that it was Chief Justice John Roberts who legitimated the tax collector’s morality for the Democrat party:

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said that the individual health insurance mandates included in every health reform bill, which require Americans to have insurance, were “like paying taxes.” He added that Congress has “broad authority” to force Americans to purchase other things as well, so long as it was trying to promote “the general welfare.”

The Congressional Budget Office, however, has stated in the past that a mandate forcing Americans to buy health insurance would be an “unprecedented form of federal action,” and that the “government has never required people to buy any good or service as a condition of lawful residence in the United States.”

In addition to government-dictated behavior neither Republicans nor Democrats nor the Supreme Court will do anything that diminishes Wall Street’s revenues. Supreme Court justices are creatures of the federal government; so predicting the outcome of Supreme Court cases involving tax dollars, and/or Wall Street’s income, is a walk in the park. No Supreme Court will ever decide to reduce or eliminate federal government revenues. In short: Repealing the ACA does not stand a chance when it gets to the High Court as it surely will.

Dragons and mosquitoes

President Trump made a big deal out of lowing the cost of jumbo jets. While media was pumping up Trump slaying flying dragons working Americans were being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Not one talking head mentioned that average Americans do not buy jumbo jets. Working Americans buy food, etc. That is why Wall Street increases the price of every necessary retail item —— food, clothing, housing, utilities, and so on by simply telling every business traded on Wall Street to jack up their prices. They do it one industry at a time. Example: Every company selling canned peas is told to raise the price. The next month it might be bread or milk. Ergo, NO COMPETITION.

Industry-wide price rigging on selected products creates a reverse domino effect by increasing stock values across the board. Hell, whenever the Dow Jones Average goes up a tick or two media reports it as a gift from God. Whenever the Dow goes down doom & gloom fall across the land. The biggest fear associated with repealing the ACA is that lowering the cost of healthcare will be the first domino to fall. The federal government will never let that happen regardless of which political party is in charge.

Finally, Wall Street’s absentee owners are the only people who will cry the blues when the ACA knocks over the dominos.
