Do you oppose FEMA helping the tornado victims in Alabama?
In my opinion it doesn't add up to suggest conservatives are hypocrites for supporting disaster aid but not other forms of government help. How is that not ridiculous? "Disaster aid is socialism so you're a hypocrite for supporting that but not agreeing with all of my left leaning ideas." Come on dude...
So socialism is OK as long as it's something you agree with? The right claims socialism is bad--blanket statement. Make up your mind.
Anybody that's not an idiot can see that certain social mechanisms have to be in place to have a well-functioning society. I'm not even a conservative. I am somewhat of a social Democrat. I just think your argument is poor and not thought through. Calling them hypocrites because they support disaster aid but not UBI or other social policies is fucking retarded dude.
Then complain about each individual program you don't care for. A blanket condemnation of socialism will cover all socialism. FEMA is socialism the same way our infrastructure, fire departments, and police departments are.
Really that's not socialism and that's part of the problem. Those are social programs, but when you call them "socialism" you muddy the water and give the right opportunities to be abusive with the labels because they don't argue in good faith.
No. The right is muddying the water by selectively calling everything they don't like socialism. They have made it a dirty word. No need to argue the point on anything. Just call it socialism and move on. Until what socialism is can be defined, they will continue doing that. The right supports lots of socialist programs. That needs to be pointed out.
