Rubio goes on homophobic rant ending political career.

The point is that America was colonized by a numerous majority of white Europeans of differing denominations. Throughout the 19th century, the white Protestant conservative majority evangelized society and culture. That began to fall apart in the 1960s as minorities, women, immigrants, and other religious and non-religious groups empowered themselves.

The acceptability of 'civil union' is to no longer up for dialogue. The far right Christians closed that door a decade ago and will not be allowed to re-open it.

This is not going to change.

In the 60's it started out to be everyone who was for the minorities, women, immigrants, and other religious and non-religious groups rights.
Then the far left socialists (progressive aka liberal) hijacked the movements and took over and ever since then the small minority of far left democrat socialists of around 24% today still rule over the majority.
Even worse they are 24% of the nation but have 40% representation in Washington D.C.
The liberal left has gone way to far to the left of the political spectrum.
The liberal left has become the very thing (oppressors) that they fought for in1960's.
Peach, one word. Nonsense. You are no longer the majority and will live with that reality.

All the polls say you are wrong Jake.
The majority of this nation is moderate and conservative not far left liberal.
Conservatives Remain the Largest Ideological Group in U.S.

Maybe you should try a poll newer than 2012.

A Kasich-Paul ticket looks more and more realistic.

How likely do you think it is that the final ticket will be Paul/Kasich or Kasich/Paul?

Kasich/Rubio. Rubio did not hurt himself by expressing a view held by a majority of americans. The northeast and west coast media are not the USA.

A majority of Americans see gay marriage as a danger?

Where's that poll?
It seems unlikely that Americans would see same sex marriage as a great danger when 55% of them believe that same sex marriage should be legal.
Marriage Gallup Historical Trends

The approval of legalized gay marriage is at an all time high as of May 2015 at 55%. American approval of legalizing gay marriage has been rising rather steadily since 1996 at which time it was 27%.

For a candidate to win the Republican nomination, they must be against gay marriage but to win in the general election they have to soft peddle their position so the majority of voters will ignore it.
Being anti-gay marriage is not a winning issue, in politics or life in America. Drop it...

Being opposed to it does not mean you see it as a "danger". nice spin attempt, but once again you FAIL.

Rubio expressed his beliefs, if you disagree with him, don't vote for him.

A politician who has the guts to take a stand and stand by his principles is to be admired, not denigrated.

Remember how both HRC and obozo were against gay marriage when they thought it was the politically safe position? Its called hypocrisy or pandering, and the dims do it constantly.

Rubio said it was a danger, and you said most Americans agreed with him. You're an idiot.

most do agree with him. the voters of california voted against it twice.

But, lets settle it. Lets let the people vote as they did in Ireland. Then its over one way or the other.

There's currently 60% support for legal same sex marriage in the US. That's the same as Ireland's was going into that landslide.

We don't have national referendums. We have a Supreme Court.

Let the Right pass its Marriage Amendment to the Constitution if they can. There's your 'referendum'.

The SC can rule on whether state laws banning gay marriage are constitutional. It cannot decree that gay marriage is constitutional. Do you understand the difference?
There's no such thing as "gay marriage," there's only one marriage law in each of the 50 states same-sex couples are eligible to participate in.

What a bunch of doublethink. You can't even accept that what you want is something different from what has been established in law for centuries, but you claim there is a legal right to it, even if it has never been defined as such....

How about this one?
Rubio said that the majority of Americans are conservative. A respected ongoing poll from Gallup shows that conservatives are the largest ideological group, but they don’t cross the 50 percent threshold. So we rate his statement Mostly True.
Maybe a Majority of Americans Really Are Conservative Mother Jones

I agree, however all presidential candidates are saddled with unpopular positions. There are always things you must say to get the campaign contributions and win the primaries. Smart candidates watch carefully what they say, so they can wiggle out it in the general elections. However, some candidates are so desperate to do well in the primaries, they will do whatever it takes.

Peach, you are misdefining the words so you can come up with skewed definitions you like. It ain't so, Joe.

let's get something straight about this all encompassing "CHRISTIAN" label being thrown around.

the TRUTH is, it's only the religious fundamentalists who are feeling threatened by the evil 'PC'

60% favor same sex marriage in the country.
40% of the population does not and they should have their rights also.

They aren't losing any rights by my right to marry being recognized.

If Rubio changed his stance on immigration I might vote for him. His anti homo stance isn't good enough to get my vote without also being anti immigration.

Marco Rubio: Gay Rights 'A Real And Present Danger' To Freedom

Marco Rubio was the subject of a fawning profile on today’s edition of “The 700 Club,” in which host Pat Robertson hailed the GOP presidential candidate as “the Democrats’ worst nightmare.”

In an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody, Rubio warned that gay marriage represents “a real and present danger” to America because gay rights advocates are bent on labeling any anti-gay messages, including those from churches, as “hate speech.”

“We are at the water’s edge of the argument that mainstream Christian teaching is hate speech because today we’ve reached the point in our society where if you do not support same-sex marriage, you are labeled a homophobe and a hater,” Rubio said. “So what’s the next step after that? After they’re done going after individuals, the next step is to argue that the teachings of mainstream Christianity, the catechism of the Catholic Church, is hate speech. That’s a real and present danger.”

During a previous CBN interview, Rubio criticized gay marriage supporters for trying to sway the Supreme Court with “a ridiculous and absurd reading of the U.S. Constitution.”

When your base is that hateful and ignorant, you must cut them lose and rally the moderates and centrists.

But no, the GOP continue to open their big tent to most hateful and despicable people.

Typical liberal hatchet job containing misdirection, misquotes, and downright lies. You ought to be embarrassed to be affiliated with such garbage.

Given that the Democrat has won the Moderate vote in the last 3 presidential elections, at least,

your analysis is flawed because it doesn't take into account how many self-described Moderates are actually liberals.

Be careful of Spare-change and Peach and Redfish's soft-headed, agenda-driven fascist-like goals disguised by idealistic-sounding nonsense.

Nahhh ... read the text yourself .... being quoted out of context is the same as being misquoted.

So you lied, because you're a shit. I think you've already established that. No need to run up the score.

Why do the RWnuts think the Supreme Court only has the right to make decisions that the RWnuts like?

Same reason many people on the left think the same thing. Look at the reaction to Citizens United for example. The problem of people liking the Court exactly when it agrees with them is essentially universal unfortunately.
