It could escalate the conflict. There is no reason to publically humiliate
Putin. His only recourse, to save face, would be to launch an airstrike
on American Forces. We obviously would see it coming and have aircraft
ready to engage them.

It is inherently dangerous for the entire world, for American and Russian
forces to just share the same battlefield, let alone engage each other.
Things could spiral out-of-control very quickly.

We also don't need a reason to launch a Nuclear War. Hell, we can do that
and so can they anytime anybody wants it. Just give the order and the Missiles fly.

Those mercenaries were bombed, and it wouldn't have made sense to escalate the situation in this case, after many of them were killed.
