Sam Clovis' nomination to the top scientific job at the Agriculture Department has already drawn significant opposition from Democrats and scientists.

Sam Clovis, President Donald Trumpā€™s controversial nominee to be the Agriculture Departmentā€™s chief scientist, has been ā€œa fully cooperative witnessā€ in the Senate Intelligence Committeeā€™s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election, Senate Agriculture Chairman Pat Roberts told POLITICO.

Clovis, a former co-chair and policy adviser to Trumpā€™s campaign, knew that another campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos, was talking to Russians, according to documents released Monday as part of special counsel Robert Muellerā€™s probe and campaign and administration officials.

Papadopoulos was arrested in late July and pleaded guilty to a charge that he made false statements to the FBI about his contact with a professor who has ties to the Kremlin and promised thousands of pages of emails related to Hillary Clinton.

Meanwhile, NBC News reported Tuesday that Clovis has been questioned by Mueller's team and has testified before Mueller's grand jury.

Clovisā€™ nomination to the top scientific job at the Agriculture Department has already drawn significant opposition from Democrats and scientists who have raised concerns about his climate-change skepticism, his credentials and his history of making disparaging statements about blacks, women, LGBT individuals and others. But there's been no public opposition from Republicans.

So, Clovis has already been questioned by Mueller's team and has testified before Mueller's grand jury. That should send shock waves through the White House. I expect we'll be hearing more about Sam Clovis.

Why?

Everyone in that room during that meeting is fucked.

Trump, Sessions, Trump Jr, Clovis, on down the damn belong in prison for life.

Trump was right, we need more prisons, for Trump and Co.
Yep cause once they start rounding up all Clintonā€™s gang they gonna be full. She be like, we need a bigger boat

Clovis and Papadapolous together can get everyone, except Trump, unless it can be proved he was briefed.

Will he say Clovis is a low level, can't remember, what' that name again, wasn't he the mail guy, person too?

Because Clovis instructed Papa to meet with Russians for dirt they can use and uh...Kushner, Manafort etc met with Russians under the same reasons.

Uh...no collusion..:doubt::doubt:

Collusion is not against the law. Unless it comes under campaign finance. And that puts Clinton and the DNC in the shitter because they paid for the dossier.

Manaford was about as high level as you can get!

Sessions also was quite powerful in the campaign and over saw the guy that pleaded guility.

So I really don't get why most of these people aint screwed.

yup, CC, the net closes. Collusion against the USA in political elections with a foreign power and its agents is categorized as Conspiracy against the US.

Sam Clovis is tied to George Papadopoulos. Mueller is working his way up the food chain.
  • Sam Clovis, a top Trump campaign official, gave another staffer the go-ahead to meet with Russian officials ahead of the 2016 election.
  • Clovis' lawyer said he was just "being polite" at the time and described Clovis as "a polite gentleman from Iowa."
  • The email exchange could be significant in investigations into Russian election meddling.
Trump campaign official was just 'being polite' when he OK'd a meeting with Russians, his lawyer says
