You can see by the quote that Santurum was reacting like any other politician to a seemingly honorable man. Obviously he wasn't aware of the monster lurking behind the facade. Penn State knew and maybe even local enforcement did also but they kept the criminal behavior a secret for a couple of reasons. Homosexuals are a protected segment of society and the football program was important than the lives of a couple of boys.

The difference between pedophile men who prey on little girls is that they do not have a network of support the way homosexual pedophiles do. Straight men do not protect and cover up heterosexual predators. There is no comparable demand for men to be scoutmasters in the Girl Scouts like there is to have homosexual scoutmasters in the Boy Scouts.

The language used during this entire trial, alone, illustrates the power that homosexuals have over the legal system and the fear they can weild. The word rape was not used. Every rape was described as a sex act, take the sting out, he's not a rapist, he engages in sex acts. If these boys were girls, Sandusky would have been a rapist. Sandusky is a homosexual and a rapist. It was admirable that he was convicted even without speaking these truths.

This is why the cover up and concealing criminal acts ends up being more culpable than the criminal act itself. Had the university not conspired to keep Sandusky's crimes secret and perpetuate them, Santorum would never have given the praise. Telling the world that Sandusky was gay and preyed upon little boys would have brought down a firestorm.

Sandusky will spend the rest of his life behind bars. This protects the public but don't think that it will be as bad for Sandusky himself. He will likely blossom and become a full fledged queen within a month.
