Sen Paul: Govt spent $118,000 to see if Thanos could really snap his fingers...

It sucks but shutting the fucking government down isn't the way to remove such crap from the bill. Did the republicans even try to offer amendments to remove the crap?

How do you remove anything in a 4,100 page bill that only gives you hours to read?

You’re calling it wasteful without knowing anything about it. It’s actually worse than that. You not only know nothing about it youve been misled about its purpose by a US senator and are too lazy to research more about it

Yeah, didn't read about it. I guess the other 4,100 pages of this pork bill kept him a bit preoccupied to do the actual research like you did.

If a soldier lost his hands in Iraq, should he have to spend his own money to get working replacements?

As has been pointed out, this is worthwhile to do. Yes, we should try and make those we broke as whole as we possibly can. Those who support sending them to get broken have no place to bitch about having to pay to have them made as whole again as we can.

Since it is valid and worthwhile, pay for it. Raise taxes and pay for it.

It's not right to make those in the future who had nothing to do with all of this pay for it because we won't.

if the money was explicit for that kind of research you are correct, we would have less of a problem spending it. But to totally recreate some stupid fictional character is not research, it's fun money provided by our government for colleges and their kids.

Don’t believe everytbing you hear from Rand Paul. The dude is full of shit… read more than the headline next time….
"Our results suggest that Thanos could not have snapped because of his metal armored fingers," Acharya said. "So, it's probably the Hollywood special effects, rather than actual physics, at play! Sorry for the spoiler."

You lie. Again.

What do you think I lied about?

According to Georgia Tech's School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering website, the research was led by Georgia Tech undergrad Raghav Acharya with help from Elio Challita, a doctoral student, Saad Bhamla, an assistant professor in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, and Assistant Professor Mark Ilton from the Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California.

Bamla said of his study, "For the past few years, I've been fascinated with how we can snap our fingers."

"It's really an extraordinary physics puzzle right at our fingertips that hasn't been investigated closely," he added. This team at Georgia Tech were fascinated by the relatively well-studiedscience behind the finger friction, energy, and vibration that causes sound produced when a human being snaps their fingers.
Why should we be spending tax dollars on any of that bullshit?

Worst spin every, Simp.
