Senator McCranky Says We Should Have Stayed in Iraq Since We Had Won

Just fine, the Iranians have still as of yet, not invaded any nations or destroyed any...same with Russia over the 40 years we negotiated with them also...during the Cold War Era..

Your ignorance astounds me every time you post.
DId they not invade Afghanistan in 1979? Hungary? Czechoslovakia? Did the Iranians not send Hezbollah to Lebanon?

McCain's comments on Morning Joe this morning are proof that he's certifiable. Mika had her father on the phone to comment about it.

The damn Russians could not beat these rats with a scorched earth policy and we believe we can?

I support air strikes ONLY as Graham is right on that.

Let me appeal to your reason and common sense Rabbi. Yesterday the militants took over the city of Mosul with 1300 troops.
1300 troops took the city.
A city with TWO MILLION PEOPLE.
Why do we have to be there to protect TWO MILLION PEOPLE against 1300 militants?

Because the religious and societal differences and culture, something the Bush administration never took into account, is what these rats over there live by.

And you will NEVER CHANGE THAT.

1300 militants beat a city of 2 million. Do the math.

No, they did not. The Soviets supported the Mujahideen in Afghanistan. Moonglow is correct.

These rebels are Sunni and they were the ones we abandoned when we ran the Sunni Baath party out of party and thought they would just go away.
As a direct result of that the Sunni took over as they are the majority by far in Iraq.

This is a religious war, take note.

No dumbass, WE ARMED AND SUPPORTED THE MUJAHIDEEN in Afghanistan.

And they are STILL using the weapons WE GAVE THEM AGAINST US NOW.

The Soviets supported the propped up communist government in Afghanistan.
Mujahideen HATE COMMUNISTS as they are anti religion.

This ain't rocket science folks.

As far back as Bush the Iraqis wouldn't give our military a standard "status enforcement agreement'.

That is vital for the protection of our troops.

And they would never give one.

As a result of that we have to leave.

No, you idiot....Bush did leave Obama with an Iraq agreement.

"In one of his final acts in office, President Bush in December of 2008 had signed a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) with the Iraqi government that set the clock ticking on ending the war he’d launched in March of 2003. The SOFA provided a legal basis for the presence of U.S. forces in Iraq after the United Nations Security Council mandate for the occupation mission expired at the end of 2008.

...… Bush and his generals clearly expected, however, that over time Washington would be able to wriggle out of the treaty and would find a way to keep a division or so in Iraq past that deadline.”

Put the blame where it belongs: the community organizer couldn't do the job of a real President.

Yeah, she dialed him up pretty quick. Loved that. Then they started the 8:00 prime time segment with McCain's irrational babblings rerun. Loved it. Thank god he lost in 2008.

NoPityParty and Moonface are prime examples of why arguing with libs is impossible. It isn't that they dot know anything. Its that everything they know is wrong.

Uh, no, the "treaty" WAS signed by Bush but never, ever agreed to by many different groups agreed upon in the negotiations with the Iraqis as parties to the IRAQI signing of the treaty.
The Iraqi "Cabinet", the "Parliament" and the real whopper in their "democracy" is the "Presidential Council" were the ONLY parties to the signing and the many others agreed uponwere denied a voice.

And what we signed off on was bad in many areas, more on that later.

And they labeled it a "security pact"

:lol::lol:

Take a long deep look at what is happening in Iraq now sugar lips. The very folks that were NOT a party to that "agreement", the Sunni, are the ones that HAVE BEEN persecuted from day one when we propped up this Shia government in Iraq.

"open for interpretation" is what we signed off on. Specifically parts that were vague on allowing Iraqis to prosecute American soldiers who are charged with crimes off base and the part where we had to get Iraqi permission to conduct any and all military operations during the period before withdrawal.

Ask anyone in the military if they believed this amounted to ANYTHING they would stand with when the shit hit the fan.

Bottom line: SHOW document ONLY, there was no real effective status agreement.

In your imaginary la la world a piece of paper does ensure peace.
You are as gullible and naive as any liberal here.

The right wants war.

The left wants to rebuild our own country.

If we get a Repub prez, he'll have us back in wars by the end of his first month.

Are you admitting that you were wrong to write that Russia never invaded a country in 40 years?

The Left wanted to rebuild our country. So it passed a bunch of higher taxes, more regulation, and crony capitalism with the result that we have the weakest economy on record. The Left wanted to avoid war so now we have squandered the victory we got in Iraq, as well as any credibility in foreign affairs.
How successful has the Left been in making America better?

Slow down, Einstein. Who is talking about the U.S. right now? Are all of the righties on here given to Tourette-like symptoms when they read posts?

Moonglow was referring to the Cold War if you care to read his post: Russians supported the Mujahideen from 1979-1989, dumbass.

The conservatives who want war want it

1. because they think it can be blamed on Obama

2. because war spending trumps the opportunity to spend on anything else.

3. because the defense lobby wants it.

McCain has always been all show and no go. He and Kyl always refused to close the AZ border or put more Border Patrol on duty. McCain used to talk a good game ("finish the damn fence") when he was campaigning but then disappear after he was elected.

Same thing now. Just noise.

President Obama was right when he called the Iraq war "dumb".

And idiot Bush didn't even get the oil he promised.
