What I am saying, is that the right has been, for some time, spewing out their vitriol against the government, defending their right to carry a gun and demonizing anyone with opposing views. And that's having an affect on the fanatics of our society and is manifesting in events, like the one at LAX today.

This is what their rhetoric is doing to the country.

Billo, problem is that the government hasn't been giving people many things to be excited about. Have you seen the Congress approval rating? Have you been following the AP scandal and the Obama Admin cracking down on whistleblowers and journalists who paint them in a bad light? Or the expansion of the NSA? Or the failure to jail a single banker in light of the largest destruction of our economy in history? Or the failure to end the bailout (QE continuing indefinitely)?

Don't get mad at the people who are mad at the gov't for legitimate reasons, get mad at the gov't for being so corrupted and dysfunctional and try to work with your countrymen to fix things. God knows it needs fixing.

People that want more gun regulations pray to their god of choice that more mass killing happen to a point where they are so common Government must step in and take our second amendment rights way.

3 stage security entry system is needed...it would've picked up the gun before he got anywhere near the inner terminal.

Check-in lounges needed, arrive much earlier for the flights than now....standing in lines for 'hours' is ridiculous. Take a numbered ticket and sit down, your number will be called in due course. You'll be checked in, Then you and your hand luggage would be screened thoroughly again...it having been put on a conveyor belt and screened, you walking thru a metal detector in stage 1.

Get caught in possession of a banned gun...it's big trouble for you.

The ONLY way you ban semi automatic weapons is by rewriting or removing the 2nd Amendment. Get going on that amendment cause until it passes no ban is legal or constitutional.

First, who are you to say what me or my family needs to protect ourselves from threats to our life & property? This is why the 2nd Amendment exists in the first place, so that morons like yourself can stay the hell away from my liberty. Second, machine guns have been outlawed since the 1930s unless you have a special permit, so at least have a clue on what you are trying to say. Third, the 2nd Amendment is not, nor has it ever been about hunting or sport shooting. It is about liberty & freedom from tyranny. It is about self-reliance & self-responsibility. Finally, most Americans would not favor such a ban as evidence time & time again when gun control comes up.
