Sleepy Ben Carson’s proposal to triple rents for poor households would hurt 1 million children

Good example: A poor individual buys a used car, maybe 10 grand, a well of individual buys a BMW, maybe 60 grand.
& the $1000 in sales taxes and the $500 in fees is going to affect the lifestyle of the poor person than the $8500 will for the rich person.

You are being obtuse, whether deliberately or not.

I'm stating a fact, the 60K BMW is costing A LOT more than a 10K used vehicle...we're slowly going back to that percentage thing you were whining about
Thanks for proving my point by repeating your obtuse ignorant nonsense.

Tell me oh wise one...what's the sales tax on a 10K vehicle compared to a 60K BMW? Think hard.
So you're doubling down.

The rich person's mandatory tax burden for buying a car is the same as the poor person's; any bill over what the guy buying a $4k car (the kind of price actual poor people pay) is a voluntary donation.

So your contention is the 10k car costs more in taxes than the 60k car?

Mere existence does not entitle one to a free ride.
It does entitle one to human dignity, which includes not dying in the street without food or medical care.

Have a little faith in your neighbors and your local and state governments, not letting people die in the streets without food or medical care. The federal government shouldn't even be in the welfare business.
I see people in the streets with no food, shelter or medical care. My neighbors aren't doing anything about it.

I'm poor.

Unfortunate.

So you want some of mine, and vote to have it stolen for you.

We need to return to originalist thought, and have only those who actually contribute something to the Republic vote.

Tax =/= theft.

If you think differently, you're an anarchist.

My contention is you're being deliberately obtuse about the relative impact on the financial well being of a poor person's sales taxes on a cheap car as opposed to the rich person buying an expensive one.

The rich person can CHOOSE to buy a cheaper car and pay less tax.

Obamacare was crony capitalism to benefit bankers, drug peddlers an insurance companies.

And all the GOP alternatives are worse in those regards.

Both parties are cesspits of corruption.

It's their choice, they worked hard to succeed and it is...wait for it...THEIR MONEY, not yours and you are not entitled to it

To bad for the poor.
Maybe they should apply themselves and they'd be able to afford a 70k truck like I can.

You were talking income tax...remember your 15 a hour comment? You got caught...deal
No I wasn't.

You're all over the map. The poor do not pay a higher percentage then the rich...the rich pay a higher percentage in income tax and they buy higher priced goods, they spend more. Property taxes are higher, etc etc
No. The rich keep most of their money; it's why the wealth gap is growing.

& when I pay $15 sales tax on the $150 I spend on work boots a pair of Levi's, I'm paying a higher percentage of my of my actual income than is Warren Buffet when he buys a $8k suit, even if he pays $800 in tax.

You should have prepared for life better and it's not anyone else's responsibility to take care of you
You should learn the difference between sophistry and rational argument.

I went to Columbia, fyi. I just don't give a damn about money.

I wouldn't go to Columbia to take a dump. Venezuela either.

Analysis | HUD Secretary Ben Carson’s proposal to triple rents for poorest households would hurt single mothers the most

Putting nearly 1 million children at risk of homelessness – many in single-mother households – is a new low for this administration. Shame on Trump for this despicable proposal.

They want to raise Hud to 35% and take away deductions. Will hurt seniors, disabled and vets as well. Despicable is right, but you know the wealthy need their tax cuts.
Socialism has never worked for the good of anyone in the history of the planet, what makes you think it will “this time”?
Robin Hood mentality is for the mentally challenged... and fools

Why is it trump put people in cabinet positions that hate the positions they have and try to abolish them? Doctor in housing is just an example VA made private etc etc Trump is lower than shark shit

Agree.
And the only thing we've seen that gets away from that crooked system is Trump.
And the only reason we got Trump is the elite insiders didnt think he had a chance in hell of winning.

This country can not afford to give out handouts...
Then start by taking the benefits away from the slugs in congress
I agree, career politicians deserve nothing
