If I invented a gun that could take out 1/4th of a football stadium with one pull of the trigger, would you be ok with the masses owning this gun?

Of course you would.

So 16,000 people with one pull of my trigger. You think it would be ok for everyone and anyone to own this gun?
Lol
Firearms have nothing to do with violent behavior, because they do not change the person or control the person.
It all comes back to the individual, Blaming an inanimate object Is childish at Best

So you would not be comfortable with the masses owning such a weapon. Thanks for admitting that.

I'm not blaming the gun you fucking gun nuts. I'm just blaming you and our laws that allow nuts to get wmd's.

There is no silver bullet but our way would cut the number of murders down considerably and you would still be able to buy your guns as long as you aren't on the list.

So, alcohol has nothing to do with alcoholism either.

Says the purported gun dealer.

The AR15 the Ohio shooter was carrying, killed or injured nearly 30 people in 30 seconds before the police shot him in a hail of bullets. This rifle is sold with advertising it's ability to take out multiple targets quickly with maximum internal damage. This is the preferred weapon of mass shooters everywhere. A gun with no reasonable value except to raise the body count.

Other countries have a tradition of hunting too. Canada also has a tradition of retail hunting and fishing. Rich people flying in to hunt tropies, although many of the trophy species are now facing extinction, like Grizzlies, and polar bears. Restrictions on gun ownership and people killing weapons and handguns have done NOTHING to curb legitmate hunters or the industries built around them in other countries.

My husband's family owns a huge hunting camp near Huntsville, which they bought more than 50 years ago, which sleeps 60. There's a big shindig there at the end of every deer season. One of my brothers went deer hunting for two weeks every year, throughout his adult life. I've enjoyed moose and deer, killed by family members. One of my Toronto neighbours went duck hunting every fall. The Lake Erie community where I now live is on the duck migration route, and hunters are currently spiffing up their blinds.

If gun ownership made people safer, then the USA wouldn't be the most dangerous country in the first world. It would be the safest.

ARs and the like are least of this country’s worry’s, Cars, alcohol, lawn mowers, bath tubs, hammers, knives, etc. All have higher body counts then people using ARs.
None of which are an right like firearm ownership is.
It’s American thing you obviously don’t understand... lol

America has had guns since the forming of the country. Mass shootings started around the late 1980’s. Something changed in that time frame. Canada has racism issues as does Sweden and every other nation. The difference is the media attention on the United States. My advice to you is don’t come into the United States.

Canada is now experiencing increased gun crime.....they had a mass shooting a year or so ago, so as their welfare state increases fatherless homes, their mass shooting rate will likely go up.

Alcohol changes people, firearms do not. Firearms have absolutely no control over people
In America we have no right to alcohol, firearm ownership is an absolute right less someone fucks it up for themselves.

The availability of guns is a serious problem, and I have no idea how to effectively address that issue legislatively. What I don't want us to do is slap some legislative band-aid on it and call it a day. That won't be enough.

I do know that if we look honestly at the statistics and demographics of Americans who shoot other Americans every week, there is plenty of responsibility on both ends of the spectrum, and THAT has to be addressed.
.
you don't even know what the problem is. you can't solve something you have no idea of what it is. If you truly believe guns is a problem, then so are cars and any other weapon out in the public. I truly wish people knew what they were talking about before they open their pie holes. sir, you don't know what you're talking about. And that has been for quite some time. I challenge you to a debate on guns. ready, what does a gun have to do with violence?
There's a pretty consistent difference between what I actually believe and what wingers here pretend that I believe.

Here is what I actually believe:

CDZ - Why aren't we addressing the gun issue as a cultural problem?

They need to build a wall between them and us. That will help keep guns and illegals out.

fine, explain what this means then?

Can we do some legislating here and there? Sure, let's look at EVERYTHING. But legislation's efficacy will be limited and long term only.
offer up something, what is it we can do? you said we can do that, so what exactly? that was vague and very general that it meant nothing. which is mostly what you post.

The jury is still out on the Vegas shooter because the FBI was careful not to blame left wing hatred even though the (soft) target was a country-western music concert that the MSM dubbed "a Trump rally". Now the crazy left is conditioned to believe that only young white men are mass shooters when we saw a Korean (legal) alien murder 33 students and faculty and a Muslem U.S. Army Major murder a dozen of his own men in a jihad frenzy.

Canada, unlike United State, recorded only three mass shootings between 2000 and 2014.

Can somebody post how many we had during that time?

Tell that to the parents that mourn the loss of their children in South Chicago, I'm sure that will help.

I listened to a story this morning that no recent mass shooting would have been avoided by any background check. Not one. so can we kick that can to the curb please?
